Q: How much RAM should I allocate?

A: Thanks to FerriteCore and ModernFix, 4 GB is comfortable. 6 GB if you run heavy shaders.

A: Yes, Iris handles OptiFine-compatible shaders, and Continuity + CIT Resewn handle connected textures and custom item textures.
