World of Mist (Official)

World of Mist is a zombie survival-focused modpack.

The experience is built entirely around the “Midrian Zombie Apocalypse” mod, aiming to stay as true as possible to the mod’s intended gameplay style.

It is a simple experience, yet a difficult one!

The goal is to survive in a fog-shrouded world during a zombie apocalypse. It sounds straightforward, but things aren’t always so simple in practice:

• Interaction limits: Part of the survival challenge stems from limited interaction with the environment. Thanks to the Midrian Interaction Limiter, you can only interact with the world using appropriate items or tools, making the early game quite tough.

• Zombies mean business: MZA zombies have a unique trait: not only are they more active at night, but a bleeding mechanic draws swarms of them toward you. This makes survival challenging—even when armed with firearms—since a single mistake can, and will, be punishing.

• Stingy loot: While loot crates offer great survival resources, firearms are rare in low-tier crates (and sometimes even in high-tier ones), forcing you to rely on standard Minecraft and MZA items to survive. Even so, the balance ensures the experience doesn’t become frustrating (though playing smartly is recommended).

• “Easy” Mode: Playing with the fog isn’t for everyone, so I’ve included a pre-configured Complementary Shader. If you want an easier experience, simply switch the shader. (Recommended for less hardcore players.)

• Hardcore Mode: Speaking of “Hardcore,” playing this modpack on Hardcore difficulty is an extreme challenge; if you give it a try, be prepared to create multiple worlds.

That said, this modpack has provided me with many hours of fun with my friends. Suggestions are always welcome!
