0verHaul is a big “kitchen sink” modpack for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge), in the spirit of All the Mods. About 340 mods, picked so they work together, with a quest book that walks you through the big ones. Play it alone, or with friends in one click.

Quests that teach you the mods

FTB Quests chapters guide you from your first tools to reactors, AE2 networks, mob farming, bosses and the Twilight Forest. Each chapter shows what a mod is for and what to make first, with reward crates along the way. Press L (or the button in your inventory) to open the quest book.

Handy keys

Keys that used to clash are sorted out, and the Controls screen has a search bar if you want to change any.

Play with friends

Essential is built in: invite friends to your world in one click, no server needed. FTB Teams and FTB Chunks let you share quests and protect your base.

Looks and speed

• A main menu and loading screen made for the pack.
• Sodium, ImmediatelyFast, FerriteCore, ModernFix, Entity Culling, Clumps and AllTheLeaks keep it smooth.
• Shaders are included but off: BSL and Complementary (Reimagined and Unbound). Turn them on in Options, Video Settings, Shader Packs.
• Optional texture packs are included too (Faithful 64x, Boss Refreshed, Better Boss Bars, Basic Nether Ores 32x).

Requirements and install

• Install with the CurseForge app: search for “0verHaul” and click Install. It sets up Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge for you.
• Memory: give it 8 GB (10 GB with shaders). In the CurseForge app: Settings, Minecraft, Java Settings, Allocated Memory.
• Java 21 (the CurseForge app picks it for you).
• First start takes a few minutes: there are a lot of mods to load.
• Servers: make a NeoForge 1.21.1 server with the same mods. Client-only mods (shaders, menus, tooltips) are not needed on the server.

FAQ

Does it work on my old 0.7.x world? Yes. Back up first, as with any update. See the 1.0.0 changelog for the two mods that were removed.

It is slow or crashes when loading. Check the memory setting first (8 GB). Turn shaders off if your graphics card is older.

Can I use it in a video or on my server? Yes, see Permissions.

• You can play it, stream it and make videos about it.
• You can run a server with it, public or private.
• You can share the pack’s page, but please don’t re-upload the pack or its files (configs, quests, menu art) anywhere else.
• Every mod in the pack belongs to its own author and has its own licence. The pack only links to them on CurseForge.
• Please don’t make money from the pack itself or reuse its quests and art without asking first.
