Formidulus (Unofficial Port)

This is not my mod. Formidulus was created by Absolutelyaya and officially targets Minecraft 1.21.1. This is an unofficial backport to 1.20.1, published under the terms of the original MIT License.

⚙️ Installation — read this first

Formidulus is a Fabric mod. This port does not change that. Pick the row that matches your setup:

⚠️ On Forge, this mod will NOT load without Sinytra Connector.

Connector is what lets Fabric mods run on Forge. Installing this JAR on plain Forge does nothing — the mod simply won’t appear. Tested on Forge 47.4.10 with Connector.

Do not download these separately — they are bundled inside the JAR:

• Cardinal Components 5.2.2
• Fabric-ASM v2.3

Optional: install Trinkets if you want the Deer Necklace and Jolly Hat to be equippable in trinket slots. Everything else works without it.

• 1 challenging Souls-like boss with a multi-phase fight
• An original OST composed by Efefski
• The Deer Cult — cultist mobs and a hidden hideout structure to find
• 2 weapons with special abilities — Sacrificial Dagger, Soul Dagger
• The Great Lantern — a rechargeable support item
• The Bulwark — a heavy shield
• 2 cosmetic accessories, 2 decorative blocks, a banner pattern, 2 music discs

Balanced around Netherite gear — this is end-game / post-end-game content.

Items are added to the vanilla creative tabs (Combat, Tools, Ingredients, Natural, Functional, Spawn Eggs), not a separate tab.

🔀 Differences from the original

A few features had no 1.20.1 equivalent and were adapted:

• No in-game config screen. Settings live in config/formidulus/world.properties (same four options: cultist mending chance, deer warning, fight check interval, jolly chance)
• The cult hideout map marker uses a vanilla icon instead of a custom one
• The Deer Skull no longer restricts which enchantments it accepts
• The Bulwark no longer applies its extra fall-speed effect
• The Sacrificial Daggers no longer shorten your reach (that used 1.20.5+ attributes)
• Two 1.21-only particles and the lantern hurt sound were substituted

The boss fight, cult, structure, loot, advancements and OST are all intact.

🧪 Testing status

Tested in single-player on Forge 1.20.1 + Sinytra Connector.

Untested: multiplayer / dedicated servers, and native Fabric. The networking layer was rewritten from scratch for this port, so multiplayer especially may have issues — please report anything you hit.
