🌾 Farming the Land

Bring the countryside to life! Farming the Land scatters real, working farms across the open grasslands of your world: farmhouses, red barns, stables, fenced animal pens, orchards and big irrigated crop fields, each one looked after by its own farmer.

Ride across the plains and you’ll spot a wooden sign with the farmer’s name on it. Every farm is different, so there’s always something new over the next hill.

🏡 What You’ll Find

Six Different Farmhouses

• Cottage, Log Cabin, Timber-Frame, Stone Farmhouse and Brick Ranch
• A grand Manor House on the largest farms
• Fully furnished inside: beds, bookshelves, a kitchen with a stove and cooking pot, crafting table, potted flowers, lanterns and an upstairs storage nook
• A villager farmer lives in every farmhouse, and each one has their own name shown above their head

Barns and Stables

• Classic red barns with a hayloft reached by ladder
• Stacked hay bales, food crates, barrels and chests
• Stables with stalls, water troughs and, on bigger farms, horses waiting inside

Animal Pens

• Fenced pens with gates holding cows, sheep, pigs and chickens
• Some pens keep one kind of animal, others mix them together
• Water troughs, hay and a little shelter in the bigger pens
• Built on level ground with tall fences, so the animals stay put

Crop Fields

• Large irrigated fields, up to 27 x 27 crops, with water in every 9 x 9 plot
• Wheat, carrots, potatoes and beetroots
• A scarecrow keeping watch at the gate

Orchards

• Fenced groves of fruit trees with wildflowers growing between them
• With Pam’s HarvestCraft 2 – Trees installed, every tree bears its own kind of fruit

Loot

• Chests and barrels packed with farm goods: bread, eggs, milk, seeds, vegetables, pumpkin pie and more
• The farmhouse chest might even hold an emerald, a golden apple, a diamond hoe or a name tag

🚜 Small, Medium and Large Farms

No two farms are quite the same:

• Small farms: a cosy homestead, perhaps just a house with an animal pen, a single field or a little orchard
• Medium farms: a farmhouse, barn, pens and fields laid out along a dirt road
• Large farms: the manor house, a big barn, a stable full of horses, a 3 x 3 grid of crop fields and several mixed animal pens

🌍 Where Do Farms Spawn?

• In Plains, Sunflower Plains and Meadows
• Only on wide, open grassland.
• Each farm sits on neatly levelled ground.

Farms are rare and only appear in newly generated chunks, so start a new world or explore somewhere you haven’t been yet.

🤝 Mod Compatibility

🍲 Farmer’s Delight (optional)

When Farmer’s Delight is installed, farms make full use of it:

• Food crates, straw bales, stoves, cooking pots and cabinets
• Cabbages and onions growing in the fields
• Loot includes Farmer’s Delight food such as bacon, ham, vegetable soup, cabbage rolls, apple cider and more

Without it, the farms simply use vanilla blocks instead. Nothing breaks either way.

🍎 Pam’s HarvestCraft 2 – Trees (optional)

When installed, the orchards fill up with fruit-bearing trees of every kind. Without it, you get classic oak trees.

❓ FAQ

Can I use it in a modpack? Yes! Feel free to include Farming the Land in your modpack.

Will it change my existing world? Farms only generate in new chunks. Anything you’ve already explored stays exactly as it was.

Do I need Farmer’s Delight or Pam’s HarvestCraft? No, both are completely optional. Farming the Land works fine on its own.
