# Wearable Lantern 2 (Forge)

Equip a Lantern or Soul Lantern in a dedicated inventory slot and carry light while keeping both hands available for tools and weapons. This edition brings the existing Wearable Lantern experience to Minecraft Forge 26.3, with a vanilla lantern model attached at the hip.

## Features

– Dedicated equipment slot beside the inventory equipment area.
– Supports the vanilla Lantern and Soul Lantern, without a new craftable item.
– A 3D vanilla lantern model follows the player’s torso at the waist.
– Moving light: normal Lantern level 15, Soul Lantern level 10.
– Independent of armor, main hand and offhand.
– Shift-click equipment, player save data and server-controlled item validation.
– Focused design with cached render models and bounded lighting updates.

The Soul Lantern keeps its blue flame. Environmental lighting uses Minecraft’s ordinary light engine; it is not colored blue. Both client and server need this Forge edition for multiplayer.

## How to use

2. Place the mod JAR in your instance’s `mods` folder. No additional mod dependencies are required.
3. Launch Minecraft and open the player inventory.
4. Place a Lantern or Soul Lantern in the dedicated lantern slot.
5. Close the inventory and explore with your hands free. Remove the lantern to stop its light.
