Right-click a ripe crop to harvest it: it drops its harvest, keeps one seed and is already replanted.

What it does

Right-click a ripe crop: it drops its harvest and is a seedling again. Nothing is broken, nothing needs replanting.
One seed of the harvest goes back into the ground, so you get exactly what breaking and replanting would give.
Wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, nether wart, cocoa, and crops from other mods that are built on the vanilla crop.
Unripe plants are left alone, so you can sweep a field without looking.
Hold the Seamstrike key and one right-click anywhere in the field, even on a seedling, harvests every ripe plant in it.
Hoes harvest a square: right-click with an iron hoe for 3×3, diamond for 5×5, netherite for 7×7. Works from an unripe plant too.
Sugar cane, cactus and bamboo: right-click to cut them down to their lowest block, which grows back.
Breaking a ripe crop with a left-click replants it too. Sneak while breaking to rip it out for good.
Drops go to your inventory: what does not fit lands at the crop. dropsToInventory in config/sowback.json turns it off.
Melons and pumpkins: right-click one on its stem with an empty hand (or a good hoe across the square) to pick it into your inventory. The stem stays and grows the next one.
Bone meal a field at once: sneak and use bone meal on a crop, and every unripe crop of that kind in the patch gets one.

Needs

Minecraft 26.3, 1.21.11 or 1.21.1 with Fabric Loader + Fabric API, or with NeoForge (also 1.20.1 on Fabric or Forge). Pick the file for your version and loader on the Files tab.
Installed on both the client and the server (the server does the harvest, the client swings the arm)

Sowback is one of the original mods written for the Emberwild Journey modpack: waystones, backpacks, runes, networked storage, villager trading, vein mining, sorting and travel, made to fit together. It also works on its own.
