Smoke Mod

⚠️ This is an anti-smoking mod. It does not reward smoking. It shows, in game terms, what smoking does to you: you get weaker, you lose your breath, and you get hooked. All brands in this mod are fictional parodies.

Why this mod exists

Most games either ignore smoking or make it look cool. Smoke Mod does the opposite. Lighting up feels small, and the smoke rings even look nice, but every cigarette quietly stacks up a cost:

• Your body pays first. A few cigarettes and you are slower and weaker. Smoke more and the world starts to spin.
• You can’t keep up. Sprinting for more than 5 seconds leaves you out of breath.
• Then it owns you. Once you’re addicted, the craving comes back again and again, getting worse each time. It takes your appetite and your sleep, and the only “relief” is another cigarette, which keeps the cycle going.
• Quitting is possible, but it takes time. Stop for 20 real minutes and the addiction finally lets go.

The goal is simple: let players feel the trap of addiction in a safe place, so they never have to feel it in real life.

Real-world facts

• Tobacco kills more than 7 million people every year, and over 1.6 million of them are non-smokers exposed to second-hand smoke. (World Health Organization, Tobacco fact sheet, 2026)
• Quitting works: in Taiwan, the adult smoking rate fell from 21.9% (2008) to 12.8% (2024). (Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taiwan)

Features

🚬 Smoking animation

• Hold right-click with a cigarette pack in your main hand or off-hand to take a drag (about 2.4 seconds).
• First person: the cigarette is raised from the corner of the screen up to your face.
• Third person: your arm lifts the cigarette to your mouth, so other players can see you smoking.
• A thin wisp of smoke rises from the tip while you smoke.
• Each pack holds 20 cigarettes (shown as durability).

💨 Exhale effects

Shift + right-click to switch how you exhale. Everyone nearby can see it.

☠️ Health effects

The mod tracks how many cigarettes you have smoked recently. The count drops by 1 every 3 minutes.

Out of breath: while the sprint limit is active, sprinting for more than 5 seconds gives you the Winded effect for 5 seconds. You can’t sprint and you move slower.

🔁 Addiction (Nicotine Craving)

• Reaching 8 recent cigarettes gets you hooked.
• About 45 seconds after your last cigarette, the Nicotine Craving effect starts.
• The craving gets worse every 45 seconds (up to level IV) and causes:
  • Nausea (dizziness)
  • Hunger, which gets stronger with the craving level
  • You can’t sleep in a bed
• Smoking another cigarette relieves the craving for a while, which is exactly the trap.
• Go 20 minutes without smoking to beat the addiction.

為什麼做這個模組： 很多遊戲把抽菸做得很帥，這個模組反過來。點一根菸好像沒什麼，吐個煙圈甚至很好看，但每一根都在累積代價。先是變慢、變虛弱、頭暈，接著跑不動。上癮之後，煙癮會一次比一次嚴重，吃不飽也睡不著，唯一的「解藥」又是下一根菸。戒得掉，但需要時間。希望玩家在遊戲裡體會成癮的陷阱，現實中就永遠不必經歷。

請不要在現實中抽菸。已經在抽的，現在戒永遠不嫌晚。

• 抽菸動作： 主手或副手拿著菸盒長按右鍵抽一口。第一人稱看得到菸被舉到臉前，第三人稱看得到手臂舉到嘴邊。一盒 20 根。
• 吐煙特效： Shift + 右鍵切換煙圈、龍鬚、水母、一般四種，附近玩家都看得到。
• 四個虛構品牌： 八星、夭壽、千寶路、民國，用 3 乾海帶 + 紙 + 染料合成。
• 負面效果： 3 根起緩速，且不能連續跑超過 5 秒（否則氣喘吁吁）。5 根起加虛弱，7 根起加暈眩，10 根起緩速、虛弱升為 II。根數每 3 分鐘減 1。
• 煙癮： 抽到 8 根就上癮。停抽約 45 秒後發作，每 45 秒加重，最高 IV 級。發作時暈眩、飢餓、無法睡覺。連續 20 分鐘不抽就戒斷成功。
