A horror ARG mod. The world is trying to tell you something.

Before your world had your seed, it had another one: seed 0. It’s still in there, under everything you build, and it has started writing to you. Not in chat. In the ground.

Start by looking around spawn.

What you’ll find

• Words pressed into the earth. Giant black letters in the grass near spawn, and a lookout tower to read them from.
• A trail of five sites, each one a clue to the next:
  • an arrow made of dead trees
  • a face laid into the ground, whose eyes look the way you need to go
  • a shaft straight down to a buried room
  • a book that only writes backwards
• Every world is different. Directions, distances and locations come from your world seed, and every site is placed on dry land.
• It writes behind you. Every now and then a word appears in the dirt behind you, where you weren’t looking. Sometimes the word tells you which way to go.
• The Origin. At the end of the trail is a patch of the very first world, and a seed. Touch it.

Each discovery unlocks an advancement in the Seed 0 tab, so you always know how far you’ve come. The final one stays hidden until you earn it.

The reward

Finish the trail to get Seed 0, an item that writes your name into the world the way the world writes to you. It only works on dirt, grass, sand and stone, so it never touches your builds.

Safe for your world

• Sites are written once, only when you first come near them.
• The whispered words only replace natural blocks (dirt, grass, sand, stone), never anything you placed.

• whisperMinutes: how often the ground writes behind you (default about every 20 minutes; 0 turns it off)

Info

• Forge 1.20.1, needed on client and server. In multiplayer everyone shares the same trail, and each player gets their own advancements and ending.
• Best in a fresh world: the trail starts at spawn.
• Fine to use in modpacks.
