Restmark

Graves for Fabric 26.3. Your items and experience wait in a headstone where you died, and go back into the slots they came from.

What it does

• When you die, everything you carried waits in a grave where you fell: a mossy headstone over a fresh mound. Nothing despawns.
• Right-click your grave to get it all back, every item in the slot it came from: armour on, offhand filled, hotbar as you left it. Anything whose slot is taken goes into a free one.
• Your experience goes in too, all of it (vanilla drops at most 100 points).
• Only you can open your grave. Explosions, the Wither, hoppers and pistons cannot touch it.
• Dying in lava, water or inside a wall? The grave takes the nearest free block instead. Died in the void? It sits just above the bottom of the world.
• Chat tells you where it is, and the vanilla recovery compass already points to it.
• Config config/restmark.json: keepXpPercent (100), publicAfterMinutes (-1 = never; set it to let anyone open old graves). Operators in creative can open any grave.
• Way to the grave: for five minutes after you die, the action bar shows how far and which way your grave is.
• Up or down: the grave hint also says how far above or below you the grave is, from 4 blocks on.
• /grave: the command tells you where your newest grave is, in any dimension, even after a restart, until you open it.
• /grave points the way: in the dimension you stand in, the command adds how far and which way the grave is.
• Read a grave: sneak-use a grave to see whose it is and what it holds, without opening it.
