Ashbin

A Trash Can block and a trash slot in your inventory. Throw things away for good, and take the last one back if it was a mistake.

What it does

• A Trash Can block: nine slots, and everything in them is gone for good when you close it.
• Hoppers can feed it: what they push in while nobody has it open disappears at once, so it ends an overflowing farm.
• A trash slot in your inventory, under the crafting result: click it with an item to throw the item away.
• Click the trash slot empty-handed to take the last item back, if it was a mistake.
• Five undos: empty-handed clicks on the trash slot hand back the last five items you threw away, newest first.
• Junk list: shift-click the trash slot with an item to mark it as junk. Junk you pick up is thrown away at once, except the stack in your hand. Shift-click again to unmark.
• Pour it away: use a full bucket (water, lava, milk, powder snow) on the Trash Can and it comes back empty. Buckets with a fish or an axolotl are left alone.
• Toss it in: items dropped, thrown or washed onto the Trash Can are gone. Redstone power switches that off.
• Junk list on the can: sneak and use a Trash Can to see what is on your junk list, so a forgotten entry can be found and taken off.
• Mark junk from the can: sneak and use a Trash Can with an item in hand to put that item on your junk list, or take it off again.
• /junk: the command lists your junk, and /junk clear takes everything off the list at once.
• /junk add: puts the item in your hand on the junk list.

Needs

• Minecraft 26.3, 1.21.11 or 1.21.1 with Fabric Loader + Fabric API, or with NeoForge. Pick the file for your version and loader on the Files tab.
• Installed on both the client and the server (it adds a block, and the trash slot is drawn on the client)

Ashbin is one of the original mods written for the Emberwild Journey modpack: waystones, backpacks, runes, networked storage, villager trading, vein mining, sorting and travel, made to fit together. It also works on its own.
