SafeSpawn – Smart Respawns
SafeSpawn automatically finds the nearest safe respawn location when a player's original spawn becomes blocked, destroyed, or unsafe.
介绍
SafeSpawn is a lightweight server-side spawn management mod. It stops players getting trapped in death loops when their spawn is destroyed, blocked or otherwise made unsafe.
Instead of permanently changing where a player belongs, SafeSpawn remembers their original spawn anchor. Whenever they respawn, it checks that spot and, if needed, finds the closest safe place nearby.
This makes it especially useful for challenge maps, minigames, survival servers, custom maps and destructive Minecraft challenges, where the area around spawn can change during gameplay.
SafeSpawn supports both a managed world spawn and individual player spawns. A player without their own SafeSpawn anchor uses the managed world spawn instead. New players are placed at their anchor the first time they join, so they never start at the vanilla world spawn by accident.
For example, if every player starts on their own pillar, you can give each player their own spawn. If the top of a pillar gets destroyed, SafeSpawn looks for another safe spot close to that player’s pillar. It won’t send them to somebody else’s spawn or leave them in a death loop.
You can set spawns for players who are offline, or who have never joined the server. Use their name or UUID. If they haven’t joined yet, the spawn is attached to them the moment they first log in, and they arrive there. If they’re offline but have played before, they can be moved to their new spawn the next time they join.
SafeSpawn also handles beds and respawn anchors, with a choice of behaviour. They can become a player’s managed personal spawn, work exactly like vanilla Minecraft, or be ignored entirely. Spawns set by an admin can be protected so beds can’t overwrite them.
Spawns work in any dimension, including the Nether and the End. Anchors also remember which way you were facing, so players respawn looking the right way. Each world keeps its own spawns, so separate worlds never share anchors.
Players get a few seconds of protection after a SafeSpawn respawn, so they don’t die again straight away. You can change how long it lasts or turn it off.
Getting Started
- Stand where you want the main spawn and run:
/sp setworld
Players without their own SafeSpawn anchor will use this one. - To give a player their own spawn, stand where it should be and run:
/sp setplayer <player>
This works whether the player is online, offline or has never joined. - You can also give coordinates, and optionally a dimension. This works from the server console too:
/sp setplayer <player> <x> <y> <z> [dimension]
SafeSpawn remembers this spot as the player’s anchor. If it becomes unsafe, SafeSpawn searches around the anchor instead of moving it for good.
Both command prefixes work: /sp and /safespawn
Main Commands
/sp setworld [x y z] [dimension]– Sets the world anchor to your location, or to the coordinates you give./sp clearworld– Removes the world anchor./sp setplayer <player> [x y z] [dimension]– Sets a player’s personal anchor. Works for online, offline and never-joined players (by name or UUID)./sp clearplayer <player>– Removes a player’s personal anchor. They’ll use the world anchor if there is one./sp status [player]– Shows the world anchor, or a player’s anchor./sp list– Lists every anchor in the current world, including spawns waiting for a player’s first join./sp test <player>– Shows where SafeSpawn would respawn that player right now, without killing them. Works for offline players too./sp tp [player]– Sends a player to their current safe respawn spot. Leave out the name to send yourself./sp config– Shows SafeSpawn’s settings./sp reload– Reloads the SafeSpawn config and world data./sp help– Lists all commands.
Configuration
/sp config radius <blocks>– Normal safe-spot search radius./sp config emergencyradius <blocks>– How far SafeSpawn keeps searching if nothing safe is found nearby./sp config verticalrange <blocks>– How far up and down it searches./sp config beds <personal|vanilla|ignore>– Bed behaviour (see below)./sp config bedsoverrideadmin <true|false>– Whether beds can overwrite admin-set spawns./sp config protection <seconds>– Protection time after a SafeSpawn respawn (0 turns it off)./sp config firstjoin <true|false>– Send first-time players to their anchor when they join./sp config movenextjoin <true|false>– Move offline players to a newly set spawn the next time they join./sp config reset– Restores the default settings.
Bed Behaviour
- PERSONAL (default): Using a bed or respawn anchor sets a personal SafeSpawn anchor. While the bed is intact, normal bed respawning still works. If the bed or the area around it is destroyed later, SafeSpawn remembers where it was and finds the nearest safe spot.
- VANILLA: Beds and respawn anchors work exactly as in normal Minecraft. SafeSpawn only steps in when the player has no working bed.
- IGNORE: Beds don’t affect SafeSpawn. The player’s own anchor, or the world anchor, is always used.
Bed Override Admin is off by default. This means a spawn set with /sp setplayer stays protected, even if that player sleeps in a bed later.
Only required server side.
