BedWars by Joashh

Protect your bed, collect resources, buy gear and be the last team standing.

The mod only needs to be installed on the server, so players can join without installing anything. Everything is set up in game with commands. It also works alongside other mods: any item, including guns and armour from other mods, can be sold in the shop, and any mob can be a shopkeeper.

Features

• Teams with their own spawns, beds and colours
• Bronze, Iron and Gold generators, with Diamond, Emerald and your own resources as options
• Resources are named and coloured, so bricks show as “Bronze”
• A shop with an in-game editor: add any item, set prices, and rename items and categories or give them descriptions, all with colour codes
• Shops can be any mob and can be locked to one team or open to everyone
• Special items: Warp Powder, Traps, Golems, Rescue Platforms, TNT Sheep, Fireballs and more
• [bedwars] join signs that show live arena status and player count, and can’t be broken or lost
• A sidebar scoreboard, bossbars, spectator mode, and labels above beds and generators
• A full map reset after every round: placed blocks, broken blocks, fire damage, water, chest contents and containers
• Arenas lock between rounds, so nobody can damage the map unless it’s in edit mode
• Edit mode shows markers and labels at every team spawn, bed, generator and shop
• Over 50 settings, for every arena at once or for one arena

Setting up an arena

Build your map, then run these commands (replace castle with your arena’s name):

/bw admin castle add                    Create the arena (starts in edit mode)
/bw admin castle pos1 / pos2            Set the two corners of the arena area
/bw admin castle lobby                  Set the waiting lobby spawn
/bw admin castle spec                   Set the spectator spawn
/bw admin castle team add Red red 4     Add a team (name, colour, max players)
/bw admin castle team spawn Red         Set the team's spawn where you're standing
/bw admin castle team bed Red           Set the team's bed (look at it)
/bw admin castle spawner add iron       Add a generator where you're standing
/bw admin castle store add "&aShop"     Add a shop where you're standing
/bw admin castle save                   Save and lock the arena

To change an arena later, run /bw admin castle edit, make your changes, then save again.

Shops: store add [name] [shop] [team] [mob]. Put - in place of the team for a shop everyone can use, for example store add "&aShop" default - minecraft:iron_golem.

Join sign: place a sign in your lobby with [bedwars] on the first line and the arena name on the second.

Main commands

Useful settings

• breakMapBlocks: lets players break the map’s own blocks during a round. Everything is put back afterwards.
• crafting: turns all crafting on or off during a round.
• playerDrops / keepInventory: what happens to items when a player dies. Both are off by default.
• startingLeatherChestplate: everyone starts with a chestplate in their team’s colour.
• clearContainers: empties every chest, barrel and furnace in the arena after each round.
• friendlyfire, teamChests, respawnCooldown, disableHunger and many more. Run /bw config to see them all.

Notes

• Running it on a server needs spawn-npcs=true in server.properties, or villager shops won’t spawn.
• Settings and shops are saved in config/bedwars/. Arenas, join signs and the main lobby are saved in the world.
• Players spawn exactly on the world spawn point, and beds inside arenas can’t be used to set a respawn point.
