Jordy’s Cookbook

Got a modpack with five food mods, three kinds of cooking pot and 1,800 recipes? Jordy’s Cookbook puts every food recipe from every mod into one cozy, hand-drawn book. Then it helps you actually cook them: it walks you through each dish step by step, checks your chests, and even fills the station for you.

It’s made to give you good information without making the game too easy. You still gather, cook and explore. You just don’t need a wiki open while you do it.

📚 One book for every food recipe

• Every food recipe in your pack, from any mod, found automatically through JEI
• Search, filter by mod or by station, and pin favorites
• What can I make? shows dishes you can cook now, dishes you can cook with what’s in your chests, and dishes you’re one ingredient short of
• Each dish page shows hunger, saturation and effects, plus every way to make it
• Ingredient tooltips tell you where things come from: what they grow from, which mob drops them, which loot chests have them, and more

🧭 Track a recipe and follow the steps

• Hit Track and the book makes a plan. Missing an ingredient you can cook? It adds a “First, make…” step, as many levels deep as needed
• A shopping list page adds up every raw ingredient for the whole dish, for one or a whole batch
• Each step tells you which station it needs, whether it needs heat under it, what to serve it in, and how long it takes

✋ A book you actually hold

• Hold the cookbook and it opens in your off hand, showing the current step on its pages
• Flip pages and scroll right in your hand while a chest or station is open, or hold Left Alt anywhere to use it with the mouse
• Wear it in a Curios or Accessories slot to keep your hands free

🍳 Works at every station

• A cloth tab on the side of any cooking station’s screen opens that station’s recipes
• The + button puts the ingredients in for you, even at modded stations
• Steps right around the vanilla recipe book and other mods’ recipe books

📦 Knows what’s in your chests

• Counts the ingredients in chests nearby and doesn’t make you cook what you already have stored
• Little bubbles over chests show which ones hold what you need
• Crouch + right-click a chest to grab exactly what the current step still needs

👩‍🍳 Cook together

• Make a cooking team from the book’s Team tab. Invite nearby friends without typing any commands
• Also works with vanilla /team and FTB Teams
• Teammates’ items count toward the recipe, and you can see who’s doing which step

🎨 Cozy cartoon style

Everything in the book is hand-drawn to match: the stitched leather cover, cloth tabs, custom icons, and a little flower bed on the title page.

🛠️ For modpack makers

Nearly everything can be switched off or tuned in jordyscookbook-client.toml and jordyscookbook-server.toml (also in the in-game config screen):

• Storage radius, how many containers to check, crouch-to-take
• How deep and how many “make it first” steps
• Which stations need heat (add your pack’s stoves and pots)
• Teammate range, loot-table hints
• Unlock every food recipe on join, for packs that hide recipes

Station detection uses JEI’s own data, so new food mods usually just work with no setup.

📥 Getting the book

Craft it from a Book + Apple + Wheat (shapeless). You can also place it on a lectern.

📋 Requirements

Plays great with Farmer’s Delight, Let’s Do (Farm & Charm, Candlelight, Bakery, HerbalBrews…) and any other food mod that shows its recipes in JEI.
