Modrinth releases will lag behind in updates. If you’re fine with that, sure! Otherwise, move over to GitHub releases for the latest update.

This is not as stable of an optimization modpack as it tries to be. Breaking changes may occur, so backup your worlds when using or updating the modpack. Here be dragons!

What’s This?

This is a (complex) optimization modpack based on my own philosophy! It’s free, open-source, and whatever problems you have with it, we will certainly not judge you! Inspired by Simply Optimized, which (I think) is based on the same philosophy.

Features

Extras

QOL features are specifically chosen to provide the best experience, including:

• Config Manager, to provide configs that will not replace user-made configs on update. Supports updating configs to the latest provided by the modpack.
• Crash Assistant (without restrictions), to make crashes easier to understand and debug.
• Dynamic FPS, to reduce usage in the background and uncap menu FPS.
• No chat signing, without adding extra mods.

Why?

No licensing restrictions.

Why put a license? When making an optimization modpack, vanilla players and modpack makers are going to use it. By having license restrictions, you are restricting users from using your optimizations. And for what reason?

Just like Simply Optimized, modpack makers can license their modpack built on top of this modpack with ARR as a whole, no licensing headache included. Why not? It’s a performance modpack.

Not limited to one distribution.

In the current versions, it doesn’t matter if you use Modrinth or CurseForge since they both have the same optimization mods.

In the old versions however, especially on Forge, this is not the case. A lot of mods are CurseForge-only, and by that is mods like RoadRunner, LazyDFU Reforged and etc. Unfortunately, Modrinth-equivalent versions don’t exist, and even if there are alternatives, they don’t match the quality of these mods.

TLDR; Both!

Rolling updates!

Don’t wait 3 years looking forward to another update. The rolling release cycle allows you to get updates whatever and whenever you want. Don’t want updates? Just don’t update.

Bleeding-edge!

For what everyone tells you to be stable and frozen (which is lame, in my opinion), this modpack looks the other way. If it doesn’t murder you or your worlds, it will remain included, allowing for marginal optimizations that, for other modpacks, are usually out of scope!

Proper support!

You may be surprised, but this response may be frustrating to some people (me included).

“We can’t help you because you’re using [insert a very specific and unrelated launcher here].”

Yes, you know what I’m talking about. We’re not crazy, and we certainly won’t do that. If anything, go ahead and ask! We’re all ears.

Technical Information

Version

• Versions follow this format: YY.MM.PATCH+mcVERSION.LOADER
• Versions adhere to Calendar Versioning.
• Platforms are already included in the file extension.
• Example: 27.01.0+mc1.12.2.cleanroom.zip

Release

Uses GitHub workflows to semi-automate publishing to GitHub, which are later manually imported to Modrinth.
