介绍

Making small dungeon rooms look good with vanilla blocks is hard. DungeonBlocks adds 934 blocks and a set of decorative props, covering stone trim, masonry, ironwork, doors, fortifications and furnishings, so a dungeon room can carry real detail in as little space as possible.
- Forge 1.20.1. Requires GottschCore 2.9.0 or later.
- Everything is in the DungeonBlocks creative tab. The pots, potions, tomes and scrolls are in DungeonBlocks Entities.
- This page describes version 3.0.0. Older versions have fewer blocks.
Architectural stone

Eleven pieces give a wall depth, columns and mouldings without taking up extra blocks: Facade, Quarter Facade, Fluted Facade, Fluted, Cornice, Crown Molding, Sill, Double Sill, Pillar Base, Pillar and Arrow Slit. Facades, cornices and crown moldings turn corners the way stairs do. A pillar base placed against a ceiling hangs upside down, so it also works as the capital of a column.
Every piece comes in 42 materials:

- Stone and brick: Stone, Smooth Stone, Cobblestone, Mossy Cobblestone, Stone Bricks, Mossy Stone Bricks, Cracked Stone Bricks, Chiseled Stone Bricks, Bricks, Tuff, Obsidian
- Deepslate: Deepslate, Cobbled Deepslate, Mossy Cobbled Deepslate, Polished Deepslate, Chiseled Deepslate, Deepslate Bricks, Mossy Deepslate Bricks, Cracked Deepslate Bricks, Deepslate Tiles, Mossy Deepslate Tiles, Cracked Deepslate Tiles
- Sandstone: Sandstone, Smooth Sandstone, Cut Sandstone, Chiseled Sandstone, Red Sandstone, Smooth Red Sandstone, Cut Red Sandstone, Chiseled Red Sandstone
- Granite, diorite, andesite and blackstone: Granite, Polished Granite, Diorite, Polished Diorite, Andesite, Polished Andesite, Blackstone, Polished Blackstone, Chiseled Polished Blackstone, Gilded Blackstone, Polished Blackstone Bricks, Cracked Polished Blackstone Bricks
Ledges, corbels, barred windows and sewers

- Ledges, in 22 materials, run along a wall and turn inner and outer corners.
- Corbels, in 36 stones and woods (stripped logs included), carry a beam or a balcony.
- Barred Windows, in 33 materials, come as a full wall block or as a facade.
- Sewer channels in terracotta and weathered copper, and Slab Tables in five stones.
Bricks and new stone

Square bricks put one big brick in each block. Large bricks span two blocks, as a left half and a right half. Both come in clay brick, stone, mud and deepslate, each plain and mossy, and many have stairs and slabs.

Moss on the stones vanilla never made mossy: bricks, polished andesite, chiseled stone bricks, deepslate bricks and tiles, cobbled deepslate, polished basalt and tuff. The moss keeps vanilla’s own green, even on near-black deepslate. Alongside them are Rubble, Cobblestone Brick, Gravel Brick, Polished Andesite Bricks, Chiseled Deepslate Bricks and three Greek key blocks.
Capstones

A pyramid point to cap a pillar, a tower, a gatepost or an obelisk. There is one for every overworld brick, vanilla’s and the mod’s own, plus Polished Blackstone, Polished Andesite and all six sandstones: 34 in all. A capstone points away from the face you place it on, so it can hang from a ceiling too. Make them in a stonecutter.
Ironwork

- Dark Iron Grates and Heavy Trapdoors in four stages of rust: plain, Tarnished, Rusted and Corroded.
- Iron Bars Door: a cell door built from vanilla iron bars. It opens by hand or by redstone, but villagers won’t walk through it and zombies can’t break it down, so a cell holds whatever is kept in it.
- Dark Iron Bars and a matching Dark Iron Bars Door, plus Tarnished versions of both. Dark iron bars connect to each other and to ordinary iron bars.
- Plate, Angle and Corner Brackets in iron and dark iron, and a Wall Ring.
- Iron and Dark Iron Spikes: a trap bed for floors, walls or ceilings. Anything walking through them is slowed and hurt, and a fall onto them hurts more than a fall onto stone.
- Dark Iron Ladder: a ladder of blackened ironwork that climbs exactly like a vanilla ladder.
The rust stages and the tarnished bars are creative-only for now.
Copper

Doors, trapdoors and grates backported from 1.21, plus heavy grates, heavy trapdoors, valve wheels and plate, angle and corner brackets. They weather through all four stages like vanilla copper, and every stage can be waxed.
Doors

Dungeon Doors in Spruce, Dark Oak, Crimson and Mangrove, two, three and four blocks tall. A tall door opens and breaks as a single unit, like a vanilla door. The three- and four-block doors are creative-only for now.
Fortifications

- Sharpened Logs, in every wood, finish a palisade. A sharpened log points away from the face you place it on, so it caps a sideways or hanging log too.
- Walkway Brackets go against the inside of a wall to carry a walkway: place one, then lay planks on the block above it.
- Cheval-de-Frise is the classic X-shaped barricade, and it pricks anything that pushes against it.
- Portcullis and Portcullis Winch make a gate that really rises. Build the gate, leave room above it, and put the winch anywhere up to 24 blocks directly above. A button or a right-click winds the gate up a row at a time, and doing it again lowers it. The gate stops rather than crush anything underneath it, and never overwrites a block.
Tombs and catacombs

- Stone and Deepslate Sarcophagi: two-block tombs with a carved effigy on the lid. Right-click and the lid grinds aside.
- Coffins in Spruce, Dark Oak, Crimson and Mangrove: two-block tapered coffins with an iron cross on the lid, which swings up on its hinge to show the red lining.
- A sarcophagus or coffin set up by a structure can be sealed: the first time it’s opened it spills loot, raises a guardian mob, or does nothing. One you place yourself is always empty, so it can’t be farmed.
- Catacomb Niches in Stone Brick, Mossy Stone Brick, Cracked Stone Brick, Deepslate Brick, Cracked Deepslate Brick, Tuff and Sandstone: a wall block with a burial recess holding a skull, bones, both, or nothing. Each niche picks its own when placed, so a row of them varies. Right-click with an empty hand to choose another.
- Bone Pile: a few scattered bones. Right-click it with a Bone to heap it higher, up to a mound with two skulls in it.
- Skull Pike, Zombie Head Pike and Bloody Steve Head Pike: a head on a two-block pole, to warn travellers away.
- Skeleton: a full skeleton, two blocks long.
Torture and racks

- Iron Maiden: right-click to swing its doors open on the spikes inside. It’s a prop, so it hurts nothing.
- Pillory and Occupied Pillory: right-click to lift the board open. The occupied one has a skeleton locked in it.
- Gibbet: a full-width iron cage with a skeleton in it, hung on a chain from the block above.
- Torture Rack and Occupied Torture Rack: three blocks long. Right-click to turn the crank a notch. The ropes draw in, and on the occupied rack they pull the skeleton’s arms and legs toward the rollers.
- Weapon Rack: holds two swords or axes, drawn as the real items, so an enchanted sword keeps its glint.
- Firewood Rack: it starts empty. Right-click it with logs or planks to stack firewood, four times until it’s full.
The secret passage

- Hidden Doors in Stone Brick, Mossy Stone Brick, Cracked Stone Brick, Brick, Deepslate Brick and Mud Brick. Shut, the door sits flush with a wall of the same stone and looks like more wall. It opens only to redstone, so clicking along a wall gives nothing away.
- Lever Sconce: looks exactly like a torch sconce until you pull it and the torch tips out. It powers the wall it hangs on, so hung beside a hidden door it opens the door.
- Pedestal: shows one item hovering and turning on top. A comparator reads it, and it can be keyed to one item, so placing the right relic opens a door.
- Crumbling Floors in Stone Brick, Mossy Stone Brick, Cracked Stone Brick, Cobblestone, Mossy Cobblestone, Polished Andesite, Deepslate Brick, Deepslate Tile and Mud Brick. Each looks like its stone with a few faint cracks. Step on one and it shudders, then crumbles away beneath you, taking every crumbling block touching it. Redstone sets it off too.
- Rubble Scatter: loose chips of stone for a ruined floor. Place more on the same block, as with pink petals, up to four.
Tapestries

Great woven wall hangings, four blocks wide and three tall: Dragon, Hunt, Necromancer and Summoning. Each also comes Worn: faded, grimy and worn through in places after too long in a dungeon. Place one against a wall and it hangs down from where you clicked. Break any part and the whole tapestry comes down as one item.
Gargoyles and cauldrons

- The Perched Gargoyle crouches on a wall top, a pillar or a roof edge. The Gargoyle Statue stands two blocks tall with its wings spread, and the Gargoyle Bust sits on a small pedestal.
- Bubbling Cauldron: a brew at a rolling boil, with bubbles and steam. Right-click it with a dye to change the brew: green, purple, red, blue, yellow or black. It’s a prop, so it brews nothing and never empties.
Fire, light and clutter

- Brazier, with four fire states: unlit, embers, soul fire and lit. Embers give off only light level 3, so the brazier still looks hot while most of the room stays dark enough for mobs to spawn.
- Candle Sconce, Torch Sconce and Dungeon Lantern.
- Swinging Chain: sways on its own, and swings when you walk through it. Hang a lantern, a soul lantern or a dungeon lantern on the end.
- Chandelier: a dark iron wheel of eight candles hung from the ceiling. Light it with a torch or flint and steel.
- Censer, Manacles and Meat Hook hang under a chain or a ceiling, or on the end of a swinging chain, where they swing with it. A lit censer trails smoke.
- Hay Patches, Angle Cobwebs for the corners where walls meet floors and ceilings, Roots, Lichen and Mold.
Banners and pennants

Eighteen two-block banners in six factions: Dungeon, Orc War, Undead, Dwarven, Cult and Plague. Each comes plain, tattered and bloodstained (the Dungeon banner is grimy instead). Every faction also has a one-block pennant. Tattered banners have real holes torn through the cloth, and you can see the wall through them.
The cloth waves gently. Right-click a banner with an empty hand to still it, or turn off animateBanners in the client config to still every banner at once.
Pots, potions, tomes and scrolls

Pots in terracotta, stone, red and blue, in three shapes each, and Big Potions and Flasks in four colours. These are entities, not blocks. They fall, tip over when something walks into them, and shatter on a hard hit or a fall of more than two blocks. A pot placed against a wall starts out lying on its side. A pot can be given loot, and a potion releases a lingering effect cloud when it breaks.
Six Tomes and ten Scrolls to leave on a table, a shelf or the floor. Each lies exactly where you place it, so several fit along one shelf. Right-click a tome to open it, and it turns a page now and then while enchanting glyphs rise from it. Right-click a scroll and it unrolls toward you to show its design. Use one on another to pile them up, sneak while placing a tome to stand it upright, and hit one to pick it up.
For map makers and modpack authors
- A pot can carry a
LootTableNBT tag, and each pot type has its own loot table, empty by default and overridable by a datapack. - A potion’s effect comes from
PotionandCustomPotionEffectsNBT, the same keys vanilla potions use. The bottle’s colour is cosmetic, and a potion with nothing set releases nothing. - A weapon rack can be pre-filled with block entity NBT, for example
Items:[{Slot:0b,id:"minecraft:iron_sword",Count:1b}]. - A sarcophagus or coffin is sealed with block data on either half:
LootTable(rolled as chest loot),Guardian(an entity id), and the weightsLootWeight,GuardianWeight(1 each by default) andEmptyWeight(0). For example{LootTable:"minecraft:chests/simple_dungeon",Guardian:"minecraft:skeleton",LootWeight:3,GuardianWeight:2,EmptyWeight:5}gives 30% loot, 20% a skeleton and 50% nothing. It happens once, on the first opening. - A pedestal can be stocked with
Item, or from aLootTablerolled once when it first loads.Key, an item id, makes its comparator signal answer only to that item. - Banners have an
animatedblockstate, braziers afireblockstate (none, embers, soul, lit), and the bubbling cauldron acolorblockstate.
Upgrading to 3.0.0
- Corner pieces of ledges, facades, fluted facades, quarter facades, cornices and crown moldings now follow the direction the block faces, like stairs. Corners placed in older worlds will change orientation and need to be re-placed. Straight pieces are unaffected.
- The Brazier’s
litandsoulproperties are replaced byfire. Braziers in existing worlds load unlit.
