About

Matcha² (or Matcha^2 (or matcha-squared)) is a modpack revolving around the amazing Matcha Flavoured datapack. This pack seeks to fix the issues caused by Matcha Flavoured being a datapack, but also enhance it even further with mods.

Fixes

Matcha Flavoured has a lot of quirks due to being a datapack, many of which Matcha² seeks to fix. Currently the list is small, but it’ll only continue to grow.

• The datapack and resource pack are pre-installed via Simple Resource Loader
• The day/night cycle has been replaced with one provided by Better Days
• Anvil XP mechanics have been replaced by No XP Anvils, getting rid of the bugs and the irrelevant XP indicator
• The annoying experiments popup has been removed thanks to Yeetus Experimentus

QOL

• Many new custom advancements which better explain mechanics
• Horseman enhances horses to make them a viable transport method (and it has integrated achievements!)
• Better inventory management with Inventory Profiles Next and Mouse Tweaks
• Cute names from Villager Names which gives your residents a little more personality
• Double Doors for automatic double door opening
• A spyglass keybind and zooming from Spyglass Improvements
• …And many more that I don’t feel like listing!

Visuals

Matcha² has been configured to look beautiful while still remaining playable.

• New particles from Subtle Effects and Visuality,
• New sounds from the aptly titled Sounds
• An overhauled HUD with SpiffyHUD
• Shaders via Iris and my configuration of Complementary
• An insane draw distance thanks to Voxy

Performance

Matcha² features all the performance mods you know and love, such as:

• Rendering improvements from Sodium
• Lithium for logic optimizations
• Ferrite Core for memory optimizations
• More rendering improvements with Entity Culling
• Optimized lighting from ScalableLux
• Optimized chunk management from C2ME and C2ME OpenCL Acceleration Module
• And some resource saving measures with Dynamic FPS
