Automaton Origin

This is a resource management heavy original origin for the original origins mod.
It’s also balancing hell. Trust me, the balancing on this is downright awful. But it’s fun above all else so who cares.

Whole idea of this origin is to have a balance of fire and water to make steam. I was in a steampunk phase during the whole thing so like yeah.

Shift + Right Click to eat coal and stuff.

Secondary origins keybind to switch current element.

Primary one to shoot out big attack things that take up most of your stuff.

BUFFS

Literally all hits do the same amount of damage to you.

You have a huge window to save yourself if you get close to death.

You can see basically everywhere.

You have frostwalking but lava too whenever you don’t have boots on.

There’s also funky elemental attack stuff. Fire gives you natural fire aspect, water gives you natural knockback, and steam uh. It’s here.

You can breathe underwater because you’re a machine.

Also no poison and stuff. Because machine.

DEBUFFS

Water and fire go down over time, especially whenever you do things.

Whole early game is essentially spent just sorta getting coal or charcoal, and sitting in a pool of water. If you spawn in a desert, then… uh. Don’t?

You can’t heal naturally either, as your health, food, and air or whatever have all been replaced by the fire and water bar.

Also, no elytra for you. There’s a small workaround augment but it’s not great.

Nether gameplay is mostly about managing your heat levels. You can cool down with ice, water bottles, and fire resistance.

AUGMENTS

Unlock upgrades by shift + right clicking a nether star

Slime Block

• No fall damage
• Increased damage from everything else

Dragon Head

• Dash ability
• Increased damage from everything

Netherite Ingot

• Less damage from all sources
• Slower walking speed

Netherite Block

• Reduced melting from all ambient sources
• Increased cooling
• It doesn’t change much about gameplay other than the nether
• No longer able to use fire or magma as fuel

Sponge

• You can swim
• So forgettable that i forgot to include it here the first time

Obsidian

• Removes Overheat Explosion (you still die from overheating)

TNT

• Enlarges Overheat Explosion

Totem of Undying

• Removes death upon powering down
• Triples the rate that the powersaving meter drops
