The Texture Update

This pack is still in development.

This resource pack is a backport of all possible textures, sounds, texts, (and models for 1.8) from version 1.14 (the texture update) to 1.7 and 1.8. I’ve done my best to backport everything as faithfully as possible, with as few compromises as possible.

Of course some compromises have to be made; The models of horses, zombie villagers, and boats were all changed prior to 1.14 as well as the changes to villagers, and entity models cannot be changed by resource packs in vanilla. Many additonal sounds were added, some hardcoded color maps were changed and added, and some unique names were added to items and blocks that shared the same name. I have been documenting all the incompatible cosmetic changes I’ve come across, and have remapped most of the possible entity textures.

Still yet to be done are:

• The black, brown, chestnut, creamy, dark brown, gray, skeleton, white, and zombie horses, as well as the donkey and mule textures
• I haven’t yet completely looked through all the unicode textures for changes
• I haven’t completely looked through the sounds.json file (the file that tells what actions and events play what sounds) for changes
• I haven’t completely looked through all the block and item models for changes (1.8 only)
• I haven’t completely looked through the English US lang file (the file that assigns names to blocks, items, and everything)

If you wondering why the compass, clock, signs, back of painintings, and steve don’t look different, that’s because the first four weren’t updated until 1.17, and steve wasn’t updated until 1.19. If you want them I’ve included them in the packs files.
