Static Hollow: Visuals

The world after the altar woke.

This is the look of Static Hollow, the creepypasta horror mod, as a resource pack on its own. Every block, item and creature is redrawn at four times the normal resolution (64×64 for a block or item): drained, darker and colder.

You don’t need it with the mod. Static Hollow has all of this built in. This pack is for playing the look without the mod, or with other mods.

THE BIG UPDATE (Static Hollow 1.63.3): nothing in this pack changed in the update, so the current file is still the latest, and it works with 1.63.3.

Original work – not based on another pack

Every texture in this pack is my own work. I made them for my mod, Static Hollow (published on this same CurseForge account, death081670), and this pack is simply the mod’s own look taken out of the mod so it can be used on its own. It’s a retexture of vanilla Minecraft’s own blocks, items and mobs, made by me; it doesn’t copy, edit or build on anyone else’s resource pack, so there is no other project to credit apart from the mod itself.

What’s in it

• Blocks: stone grain, bark, wood fibres, shaded cobbles and bricks. The ground you walk on most is painted from scratch: crumbly soil, wind-packed snow, cracked stone, rounded cobbles and gravel, faceted ore that glints, real leaf shapes you can see through. Crying obsidian weeps: violet tears well up and drip.
• Water: real rippling water, with wavelets moving at their own speeds, faint caustics and glints on the crests. Rivers and falls pour in long streaks of foam.
• Items: all of them, with fine outlines and bevelled 3D shading: brushed, scratched metal; wood grain; faceted gems; rust on iron, dried blood on blades, mould on food, maggot holes in rotten flesh.
• Mobs: fur, rotting flesh with veins, cracked bone, chitin, scales, cloth and metal. The undead rot and bleed, iron golems rust. Chests, boats, armour, shulkers, the dragon and every painting are HD too. Wool, collars and leather armour stay dyeable.
• The Enderman is all new: starved black skin and ribs, sunken eyes weeping light, a grin torn ear to ear full of needles – and new sounds: backwards whispering, a torn choir of a scream, a stinger when you look at it.
• Fire: rag-wrapped, soot-blackened torches; rusted lanterns with a living flame behind smeared glass; fire, campfires, embers and smoke all redrawn.
• New splash texts on the title screen.
