Rocket Levels

Never mix up your elytra rockets again. This pack shows the flight duration of every firework rocket as a small colored number directly on its icon, so you can tell them apart at a glance while scrolling through your hotbar.

Features

• Flight duration 1 is shown as a green 1
• Flight duration 2 is shown as a yellow 2
• Flight duration 3 is shown as a red 3
• The number sits in the top left corner of the icon, so it never overlaps the stack count in the bottom right
• The number only appears in GUI views like the inventory and the hotbar
• In your hand, on the ground and in item frames, the rocket looks exactly like vanilla

My personal use case

I made this pack for my own use. When I am building and need to fly up to a spot quickly, I use a flight duration 1 rocket for short distances. For long distances I use flight duration 3, because they are more efficient. With the number on the icon, I always grab the right one without checking the tooltip.

How it works

The pack replaces the item model of the firework rocket. In GUI views, it checks the flight duration of the rocket and adds a small number overlay on top of the vanilla texture. In every other view, the vanilla model is used. The vanilla texture itself is not changed.

Good to know

• The number is shown for rockets without firework stars, which are the rockets used for elytra flight
• Rockets with firework stars keep the vanilla icon
• No other textures, sounds or models are changed, so the pack works well together with other resource packs
• If you use another pack that changes the firework rocket model, move this pack above it in the pack list

Installation

1. Download the file
2. Put the .zip into your resourcepacks folder (do not unzip it)
3. Enable the pack in Options > Resource Packs
4. If you change the pack while the game is running, reload with F3 + T
