Magma’s Brewery

This datapack adds 12 kinds of wine and a craftable thyrsus staff into the game.

All wines are inspired by kinds of wine that actually exist in real life and are individually brewable.

If you want to get the wine, you first need to craft one of the 12 kinds of juices/concentrates, each serving as the base for their respective drink. The juices are also individually drinkable, while the concentrates are not. The recipe to craft them differs only in its defining item, and the rest is universal. The exact layout is given in the description. It is meant to be stand-ins the process of containing, crushing, and siewing the base item to produce its juices/concentrates.

Don’t worry, the bucket, piston and hopper are automatically returned to you after crafting, you only use up the base item and the empty glass bottles!

After this step, you can brew the resulting bottles with glow lichen, turning them into their corresponding wine. This is essentially just the equivalent of fermentation of the juices into wine. Why is glow lichen the stand-in for yeast? It is easy to find, easy to farm, and completely useless otherwise. That’s why.

All crafting recipes are in the gallery.

All wines give 1:30 seconds of slowness, mining fatigue, and jump boost to sell the ensuing drunkenness. All items added can be drunk even while full, and they all fill one hunger bar and grant one unit of saturation.

The thyrsus is the name of the ceremonial staff used in Dionysian rituals. I added it because I have a giant temple for Dionysus in my Minecraft world. This entire datapack is for that temple, actually. I just got fed up with not having any wine in the temple for the God of Wine, so I added it myself.

The staff is craftable, as mentioned, and the recipe is in the gallery.
