E44历史

东铁线E44列车于1982年投入运营，是东铁线第一代直交传动通勤型电动车组，由英国都城嘉慕生产。该列车因无法与其他车厢编组为12卡列车，故未进行中期翻新，成为唯一保留原始外观的“黄头”列车。E44在2002年7月27日完成最后一次“慈善之旅”后便停止载客运行，此后长期收藏于何东楼车厂，用于资产处分测试等非运营用途，最终于2018年正式退役

E44 History

The East Rail Line E44 Train, which was put into operation in 1982, is the first generation of direct-drive commuter electric multiple unit (EMU) produced by MetroCammell of the United Kingdom. Due to its inability to be marshaled with other carriages to form a 12-car train, this train has not undergone mid-term renovation and has become the only “Yellow Head Train” retaining its original appearance. After completing its last “charity journey” on July 27, 2002, the E44 ceased passenger service and was stored at the Ho Tung Lau Depot for non-operational purposes such as asset disposal testing for a long time. It was officially retired in 2018
