The Pale Hunt is a dark fantasy and gothic horror modpack inspired by the oppressive atmosphere, mystery, and progression of games like Bloodborne.

Rather than turning Minecraft into a massive collection of unrelated content, The Pale Hunt focuses on creating a cohesive experience built around exploration, dangerous nights, grotesque creatures, forgotten ruins, ancient cemeteries, and cosmic horror.

The world begins as a seemingly familiar medieval land plagued by monsters and disease. But the farther you travel, the stranger things become.

Something is watching from beyond the darkness.

THE HUNT

Night is no longer simply an inconvenience.

Dark forests, abandoned structures, graveyards and underground ruins are populated by increasingly dangerous creatures. Light becomes an important resource, and carrying a torch or lantern may be the difference between reaching shelter and disappearing into the night.

Explore carefully, prepare before leaving safety, and learn which creatures are worth fighting.

Not every hunt needs to end with a kill.

BLOOD MOONS

Some nights are worse than others.

The appearance of a Blood Moon transforms the world into an especially hostile place, bringing increased danger and turning ordinary journeys into desperate attempts at survival.

Those willing to leave shelter during these nights, however, may find opportunities that cautious hunters will never see.

A GOTHIC WORLD

The Pale Hunt reshapes Minecraft around a darker medieval identity.

Expect ruined settlements, cemeteries, catacombs, ancient structures, hostile wilderness and forgotten places scattered throughout the world.

The visual experience is designed around Excalibur, supported by atmospheric lighting, dynamic lights, environmental audio and optional shaders to create a world dominated by stone, fog, firelight and darkness.

NIGHTMARES & BEASTS

The creatures of The Pale Hunt range from corrupted wildlife and undead horrors to beings that seem increasingly difficult to explain.

Mods such as Blood and Madness, Born in Chaos, The Graveyard and other carefully selected additions expand the bestiary without abandoning the central gothic-horror theme.

As you explore farther from safety, the distinction between beast, monster and something far older begins to disappear.

The Pale Hunt takes inspiration from one of the most important ideas behind cosmic horror:
