The Last Frontier Apocalypse

The Last Frontier brings apocalypse survival, town building, brewing, and experimental space exploration together in a Minecraft Java **1.21.1** modpack for **NeoForge**. Scavenge for what keeps you alive, establish a community with its own land and economy, and explore the possibilities beyond the Overworld.

**Development status:** this collection contains development builds at different stages of completion. Beyond the Overworld is experimental, and the supplied combination has not yet undergone a documented full-pack gameplay or multiplayer test. Features and balance may change.

## Survive and recover — Afterfall

– Manage wounds, infection, and survival needs while facing the infected.
– Search towns and other locations for supplies, equipment, and materials.
– Work with power, water, and vehicle systems as you establish a more secure base.

Survival extends beyond combat: caring for your survivor and maintaining the resources around your shelter are part of the experience.

## Give your settlement a future — Civic Frontier

– Found towns and nations, claim land, and manage access through civic tools and screens.
– Use treasuries, taxes, trading systems, and physical currency to organize a community economy.
– Manage town protection and the costs of maintaining a settlement.

Civic Frontier includes an optional integration with Afterfall. The exact interaction of claims, currency, and protection in this combined pack still needs gameplay validation.

## Build a brewing workshop — Brewhaven

– Cook, ferment, distill, and age drinks using dedicated equipment.
– Work with recipe quality, serving containers, a brewer’s journal, and drink effects.
– Adjust intoxication, individual effects, and presentation settings to suit the world.

Brewing content includes alcoholic drinks and fictional intoxication effects.

## Explore beyond home — experimental

Beyond the Overworld supplies ship and planetary exploration systems. Its included build is still versioned **0.0.1-p0** and identifies itself as an architecture prototype. Treat space travel as an evolving part of the pack, with incomplete behavior and changing balance possible.

The collection does not currently establish a verified shared quest line or a tested progression route connecting town development to space travel. More detailed features described in individual planning documents are not promises of available gameplay.

## Lighting and supporting components

• **Dynamic Item Lighting** visually illuminates the surroundings of held and dropped luminous items. This does not change world light levels, mob spawning, or crop growth.
  – **WaterMedia** and **WaterMedia: Binaries** provide multimedia support components. Playback depends on the relevant mod integration and supported native components; their inclusion does not imply bundled films, music, or a streaming subscription.
  – **Everythingstartup Bridge** is a dedicated-server component for recording connected playtime and synchronizing presence/history with a configured Everythingstartup website receiver. Players do not install it. Website synchronization is disabled by default and requires separate administrator setup. When enabled, it sends player identifiers, usernames, and connection/time records to that receiver; connected time includes AFK time.

## Requirements and multiplayer

– **Minecraft:** Java Edition 1.21.1.
– **Loader target:** NeoForge 21.1.252.
– **Java runtime:** Java 21.
– **Gameplay installation:** clients and the dedicated server need the matching gameplay mods and versions. Install Everythingstartup Bridge on a dedicated server only; handle client multimedia components separately from the server mod set.
– **Dependencies:** retain the included WaterMedia / WaterMedia: Binaries pairing for multimedia support. The other supplied mod metadata declares Minecraft and NeoForge as its required platform dependencies; no Fabric API or separate library requirement is declared for those builds.

The gameplay mods target client and server use. Singleplayer and dedicated-server play are intended, but compatibility, performance, and multiplayer behavior of this exact combination remain unverified. Additional mods, shaders, and replacement lighting renderers have not been validated with this pack.

## Configuration

The included builds expose settings for Afterfall survival and world generation; Civic Frontier economy and civic rules; Brewhaven intoxication, effects, and accessibility; Beyond the Overworld display and effects; and Dynamic Item Lighting sources and rendering quality. Available settings depend on the installed versions.

Everythingstartup Bridge uses a server-only TOML configuration for tracking and optional website synchronization. The supplied mod collection does not include a finalized shared configuration preset. Back up worlds before changing generation settings or updating development builds.
