Smallfoot’s Better Cubes: an Enhanced, yet familiar experience

It’s been a few years since I’ve last played vanilla Minecraft, so I decided to start a Forever World in the latest version of the game (which is currently 1.21.8), with a few mods to improve performance, graphics, immersion and quality of life. So I started with Fabulously Optimized modpack (project by robotkoer) as the foundation of my Vanilla Plus project, and kept adding more mods of my liking until I felt like I could experience a more immersive and rich gameplay experience in my single-player forever world. Later on, my friends wanted to join me in my new Vanilla+ adventures, so I added the Essential mod (made by SparkUniverse_) for easy multiplayer world hosting and features to improve social connections and character customization in-game. 

MODPACK FEATURES:

• Fabulously Optimized fabric modpack for Minecraft Java 1.21.8 (many performance mods to improve FPS, enhance game configurations and applies a lot of necessary bug fixes);
• Distant Horizons + Iris Shaders + Complementary Reimagined + Euphoria Patches (you can add other shaders if compatible with DH, or disable shaders and DH altogether if you’re playing in a low-end PC);
• Replaced Fabulously Optimized’s multiplayer mod (e4mc by skyegreen) with Essential for an user-friendly experience! Easily host your single-player worlds and add players to your friends list so they can quickly join you;
• Resource packs: enjoy Fresh Animations with its extensions and some mobs reimagined with FA compatible resource packs. Also comes with a dark/improved menu and lots of 3D resource packs for specific blocks, crops, saplings, grass, flowers, foods, potions, ladders, lanterns and much more!
• Visual mods: Subtle Effects, Particle Rain, Visuality, Immersive Sandstorms, Not Enough Animations, First Person Model, and better skin/armour mods;
• Sound mods: diverse ambient noises for all vanilla biomes, enhanced sound physics – like sound dispersion and echo -, realistic footsteps and more!
• Quality of Life mods: organize your chests and inventory, see compass/clock information in the HUD and enjoy improved F3 screen, third-person view, GUIs and other enhancements;
• Immersion mods: random names for Villages, Villagers and baby pets; dynamic seasons that impacts weather, atmosphere and crop growth; many gameplay tweaks to better fit the vanilla experience;
• All vanilla wood variants for many blocks such as chests, bookshelves, shields and beds;
• New Vanilla-style creatures such as owls, capybaras, elephants, porcupines, and stealthy snakes;
• Modded furniture that fits into vanilla builds like chairs, cabinets, wind-chimes, shelves, ceiling lamps, window shutters and more variation to all vanilla stone-type blocks and walls.

⚠️  Make sure to follow the tutorial in the gallery to properly activate all the resource packs from this modpack! Also, don’t forget to manually copy the data packs from “datapacks” (game folder) into your save folder (“datapacks” folder in your world files).

I’ll try to keep the pack updated and maybe will add more mods into it as more content gets a Fabric 1.21.8 version here in CurseForge.
