Introduction

SeriousRemnants is a modpack focusing on Embers, Roots 2 and BetterWithMods, paired with exploration and survival.

Explore the world, find custom made structures and loot, and figure out what happened to the dwarfs so long ago.

I highly recommend you read the Tips and Tricks below!

Features

Custom made structures that generate in the world
Difficult mobs including a being creeping in the dark. Don’t get eaten by it!
Improve your ore processing by unlocking better technology
Vanilla armor can not be crafted, however mobs drop theirs much more frequently
Waypoints spawn throughout the world as a means of long distant travel
Lots of items have no recipe and can only be found in random chests
Harsh environments, keep track of your low health, hunger, thirst and temperature

Tip, Tricks and Info

Waypoints can be renamed by shift+right clicking the bottom part of it
Turn off mip maps and install optifine for better performance
- If performance still isn’t great, disable “DynamicLights” mod
Focus on the mod “Survivalist” early on
- Turn log into chopping block
- Craft a hatchet. The string comes from plant fibre, which you get by breaking tallgrass
- Use the hatchet and chopping bocks to cut logs into planks, and planks into sticks
To aquire bark from Roots, you have to cut logs with the Saw from BetterWithMods
Certain dynamic light sources repel the grue in the dark
Nausea effect is replaced by inverted controls
Vanilla armor can’t be crafted but modded ones can. Look at what’s available
Craft Lumberaxes to chop those giant trees in one go
- Mud, Wood and Stone Lumberaxes can’t be crafted
Shields can’t be crafted, only found in chests
Extra Lives can be found in chest or crafted using very rare ores
Nights get really dark depending on the current moon phase
