For now, you can use this little guide to help you with your first few days
All crafting recipes can be found in the JEI crafting menu on the right of your inventory

Upon spawning in, you’ll be given 3 tools; A wooden sword, pickaxe, and axe. These tools will help you harvest the materials around you, but won’t help you much with crafting and won’t last long.

Wooden tools and stone tools have had their crafting recipes removed. So instead, you must find flint from gravel and break the flint on a hard surface by right clicking until it turns into flint shards (Tip: You can collect flint faster by placing three gravel blocks into your inventory crafting grid) 

Once you’ve collected the flint shards, you need to find sticks. You can collect them from tree leaves or find them scattered on the ground. Then make a flint knife from the stick and one flint shard. Then you can use your knife to cut down grasses until you collect enough plant fiber to make plant string.

You can make wooden planks and sticks from wood blocks by placing your axe beside or above the wood block on a crafting grid (Your wooden or stone tools won’t help with this)

All flint tools are made from flint shards, sticks, and plant string. These flint tools will keep you alive until you can find iron and continue advancing.
