Records of Delusion

A story-driven detective modpack for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge), built around a reusable
four-act case engine. You are not watching a cutscene — you are the one who has to walk
the scene, catch the contradictions, and win the argument.

How a case plays out

Every case runs through four acts:

1. Opening — the stage is set. Pure performance, fully skippable.
2. The crime — the incident itself, played out before you.
3. Investigation — you are let loose on the scene with a magnifier, a clock, and a
   limited amount of composure.
4. Trial — the suspects are brought in, and every clue you brought back becomes
   ammunition.

What you actually do

• Search with a magnifier. Long-press on suspicious spots to examine them. Some spots
  are noise, some are the case. Every failed attempt costs you.
• Mind the clock and your nerves. Investigation runs on a real in-game clock until
  nightfall, and a sanity meter that drains as you push your luck.
• Question the people involved. NPCs can be talked to directly — their answers change
  as the case moves forward.
• Cross-examine at trial. Present evidence, press witnesses, and break testimonies
  apart with a rebuttal system built for contradiction-hunting.
• Play your way. Multiple protagonists with different skills — one searches more
  efficiently, another simply refuses to lose their nerve.

Current content

Case 01 — a dormitory death that looks straightforward until it isn’t. Four people were
in that building that night, and all four have a reason to lie. It is the first full case
built on the engine, and it is meant to show what the format can do.

More cases are in production. The engine, the trial system and the character skills are
designed to be reused, not rebuilt per story.

Language

This release is Chinese only. All dialogue, clues, UI text and voice lines are in
Chinese. An English localization is planned but not yet available.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.13
• 6 GB of allocated RAM recommended
• Shaders are included but disabled by default; enable them in video settings if your
  hardware allows
