Follow her fires: a story-driven Minecraft 1.21.1 Fabric adventure modpack

On your first night you light a campfire, and the quest book sends you looking for a journal under a fallen spruce. It belongs to the Lamplighter, a traveller who walked this world long before you.

Her pages become your road: through ruins and the deep dark, into the Nether and the Aether, past the Ender Dragon and out to the stars. Follow her closely or wander off. The book keeps the story in order, but it never locks the world.

What makes Nytheria different

Nytheria is a Minecraft 1.21.1 Fabric adventure modpack by Navrelis: more than 400 mods, nine dimensions, 440 quests and around 40 bosses. Here is what sets it apart.

• One story, one book. All 440 quests are written as one traveller’s journal, from the first fire to a hidden final part.
• Mods made for this pack. Navrelis wrote 22 of them, plus Sporran, which lets L_Ender’s Cataclysm and Astral Dimension, two NeoForge mods, run on Fabric.
• Difficulty that grows with you. Every player has their own multiplier, from 1.00x up to 2.50x, rising with play time, kills and gear.
• A home worth coming back to. Cooking, farming, fishing and building get a whole part of the book.
• Made for friends. Shared quest progress, land claims, voice chat, and your own loot in every chest.

A quest-based adventure: the Lamplighter’s journal

The quest book holds 440 quests in 27 chapters and 11 parts, built on FTB Quests. QuestBridge, the pack’s own mod, turns real actions into tasks, such as sitting by a lit campfire after dark, sleeping in a bed or taming an animal.

Gate quests keep the story in order. One quest in each part opens the next, and work you do early still counts. Hearth and Home, the cooking and farming part, opens as soon as you find the journal.

Room to wander. 144 quests are optional, and 65 secret quests only appear once you have done them. Item tasks only check what you carry: nothing is taken.

Explore nine dimensions, over 350 biomes and over 900 structures

Over 350 biomes can generate in a new world, about 290 of them added by mods such as Terralith, Oh The Biomes We’ve Gone, Better End Remastered and Better Nether Remastered.

Over 900 structures are out there, from Moog’s Voyager Structures, Repurposed Structures, Towns and Towers, When Dungeons Arise and Dungeons and Taverns to the YUNG’s mods, which rebuild the vanilla mineshafts, dungeons and temples.

Nine dimensions in eight realms: the Overworld, the Nether and the End, plus the Aether, the Otherside, Eternal Starlight, the Twilight Forest, and the Astral Dimension with its second realm, Setback.

The Twilight Forest and the Astral Dimension have no quests. They wait for whoever goes looking.

Getting around: waystones (about 1 experience point per 100 blocks, never more than 27 points; scrolls are free), Xaero’s Minimap and World Map, and Nature’s Compass to find any biome.

Boss fights: around 40 bosses and a 600 HP Ender Dragon

Around 40 bosses with their own boss bar come from vanilla and nine mods, plus 15 mini-bosses. L_Ender’s Cataclysm and The Twilight Forest bring eight each, Astral Dimension six, Bosses of Mass Destruction and Eternal Starlight four each.

The quest book sends you after many of them: the Night Lich, the Warden, the Wither, the three Aether dungeon bosses and the Gatekeeper of Eternal Starlight. The bosses of Cataclysm, the Twilight Forest and the Astral Dimension are not in the book. You meet them when you find them.

The Ender Dragon has 600 HP, three times vanilla, and True Ending rebuilds the fight with new phases, dive attacks and a laser beam.

The End has to be earned. Eyes of Ender do not fill the portal here. You gather End Remastered eyes from temples, bosses, trades and crafting: 16 kinds for a portal with 12 sockets.

Hearth and Home: cooking, farming, building and storage

Between trips there is a home to run. The book gives it a part of its own: five chapters and 74 quests, nearly all of them optional, open from the moment you find the journal.

• Cook and farm. Farmer’s Delight Refabricated and the Let’s Do mods (Farm & Charm, Bakery, Vinery, HerbalBrews, Candlelight, Meadow, Beachparty) share their stoves, pots and ingredients. Tide turns fishing into a minigame with 102 fish, and hunger drains 35% slower.
• Build. Chipped, the Macaw’s mods, Handcrafted, MrCrayfish’s Refurbished Furniture and Supplementaries, plus Sophisticated Building, the pack’s own fork of Effortless Building, with build modes, mirrors and undo.
• Store. Sophisticated Storage, Sophisticated Backpacks, and Obscura’s Simple Storage, which links your chests and barrels into one searchable list at a Storage Terminal. No power, no channels.

Play together: a multiplayer modpack for friends and servers

Nytheria works in singleplayer, with friends over LAN, and on dedicated servers.

• Shared quests. Join a party with FTB Teams and your quest progress is shared; each member claims their own rewards.
• Land claims. Open Parties and Claims with the pack’s Team Claims layer: up to 500 chunks of your own, and a shared pool for parties of two or more.
• Voice chat. Simple Voice Chat carries your voice 48 blocks, a whisper 24.
• Your own loot. Lootr Remastered gives every player their own loot from each chest.
• One map. Unified Xaero Worldmap shares the explored map between everyone on a server.
• Graves. Your items and XP wait in a grave where you died. Others can rob it after 24 hours.

Made for Nytheria: Sporran and the pack’s own mods

Navrelis wrote 22 mods for this pack, plus Sporran, a fork of Kilt that runs NeoForge mods inside a Fabric pack. Sporran is the reason Nytheria can include L_Ender’s Cataclysm and Astral Dimension. The Twilight Forest is a native Fabric port and does not need it.

What Minecraft version and mod loader does Nytheria use?

Nytheria runs on Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1 with Fabric Loader 0.19.5 and Java 21. The CurseForge app installs the right Java version for you.

Is there a Forge or NeoForge version of Nytheria?

No. Nytheria is a Fabric modpack. A few NeoForge mods, L_Ender’s Cataclysm and Astral Dimension among them, run inside it through Sporran, the pack’s own compatibility layer.

How many mods are in Nytheria?

Nytheria has more than 400 mods (405 files). About 320 of them add content; the rest are libraries and APIs.

Does Nytheria have quests?

Do I have to do the quests in order?

Mostly. Each part of the Nytheria quest book opens through one gate quest in the part before, and a locked quest cannot be completed early. Work you do in the meantime still counts, and the book never locks the world itself.

Is Nytheria multiplayer?

Yes. You can play Nytheria alone, with friends over LAN or through e4mc, or on a dedicated server. Teams share quest progress, parties share land claims, voice chat is built in, and every player gets their own chest loot.

Can I run Nytheria on a server?

How much RAM does Nytheria need?

Give Nytheria 10 GB of memory; 8 GB is the minimum. Set it in the profile options of the CurseForge app.

Does Nytheria have shaders?

Yes. Nytheria includes three shader packs, Complementary Unbound, BSL and Derivative, with Complementary Unbound and Euphoria Patches preselected. Shaders are off by default; press K in game to turn them on.

How many bosses are in Nytheria?

Nytheria has around 40 bosses with their own boss bar, from vanilla and nine mods, plus 15 mini-bosses. The Ender Dragon has 600 HP, three times its vanilla health.

Is Nytheria hard?
