Place it in the mods folder of your profile, and of your server if you run one.

Please don’t update individual mods. Some mods are intentionally kept on older versions because newer ones crash or break worlds in this combination. Please only update through new versions of the modpack.

Place the zip files in the resourcepacks folder of your profile, then enable them in Options → Resource Packs in this order from top to bottom: NEO Topia pack, CTM Transitions, PureBDCraft. OptiFine is not needed, connected textures are supported through the included Connectedness mod.

How to Install a Server:

1. Make sure Java 17 (not newer) is installed on the server machine. You can get it here: https://adoptium.net/temurin/releases?version=17&os=any&arch=any

2. Download the latest server version from the Files tab and extract the zip.

3. Place the Server files where you want the Server installed.

4. Download Railcraft from the link above and insert it into the mods folder of your server.

5. Set the server’s memory in the file user_jvm_args.txt (for example -Xmx6G).

6. Double-click on the run.bat for Windows or the run.sh for Linux and MacOS.

7. If you get an error saying the server needs Java 17 even though it is installed, your computer uses a different Java by default. In that case, replace java in run.bat (or run.sh) with the full path to Java 17’s java.exe.

8. The Server is now going to try to start up. It is going to fail and create eula.txt. When it has failed, close the Server window.

9. Open the eula.txt and replace the false with true after you have read the linked EULA.

10. Now double-click on the run file again to start the server.

11. To connect to the server, you need to find out the IP. If the server is in the local network, enter the IP of the computer that is running it and add “:25565” at the end as the default port. If the computer is on another network, you will need the public IP and open the port in the router’s firewall.

12. The Install is now complete, and you can now start the Server and configure it to your will.

How to Update a Server:

1. Make a backup of your server folder, especially the world.

2. Download the latest server version from the Files tab and extract the zip.

3. Delete the Mods and Config folder from your current server folder. If you changed settings in config, save those files first so you can reapply them.

4. Insert the downloaded Mods and Config folder into the folder of your current server.

5. Download Railcraft from the link above and insert it into the mods folder of your current server.

6. The Update is now complete, and you can now start the Server.
