The game begins in a hostile world, with biomes reworked by William Wythers’ Overhauled Overworld, realistic seasons from Serene Seasons, and dangerous beasts from Alex’s Mobs and Unusual Prehistory.
Nature is unforgiving: wild animals, unpredictable weather, and scarce resources force the player to think like a survivor, not a miner.

Technological progression has been reworked with KubeJS, requiring copper and bronze tools before iron, and complex and expensive furnaces.
Simplified recipes have been removed, and new steps have been added for each advancement, from cooking stone over campfires to forging metals.
