Isle Of Night (HTTYD)

In July of 2023 I started a modded Minecraft server using Aternos server hosting, it was called ICARIS. It featured my original How To Train Your Dragon modpack of medium quality and the worst ping known to man. Over time I removed, replaced, updated and perfected that modpack to the best of my ability. There’s only so much you can do with mods though if your only using Aternos mod packs and stuck on 1.18.2. You end up getting really bored with the same old stuff and jealous of anyone playing with mods and or features they enjoy in newer versions of Minecraft. That’s why I created Isle Of Night! It’s an Aternos-free, lightweight How To Train Your Dragon themed modpack for 1.21.1 (a somewhat newer version of Minecraft) that’s small enough for elderly computers to handle (tested), loads of great features and the ability to have up to 8 players on your world at a time thanks to Essential!

Isle Of Night was built around the Book Of Dragons mod! While the number of dragons that exist in this mod is somewhat limited, the dragon behavior, colorations and interactions are highly complex and in-depth. Each dragon has their own personality, this means training them is going to be different each time. Some want to simply play tag or take a walk with you while others will want your prized treasures and some even like to spar with you! Likewise, each dragon has it’s own unique coloration and patterns. No two dragons are ever the same!

I couldn’t just leave it at Book Of Dragons, they are very cool and fun but definitely make the game more difficult. One minute you’ll be building your house, the next second you are a random skrills chew toy. For making eating and keeping your health up we have Farmer’s Delight and Let’s Do Vinery. These are quicker and funner ways to replenish your health that won’t have you going to The Nether (at least not for most of these recipes). They both introduce new crops to the game that you can craft dozens of dishes using, so get your bowls crafted! To keep you safe from that extra playful skrill there’s Simply Tents, an easily crafted, portable, upgradable home where most dragons cannot enter. So if Toothless is giving you a tough time you’ve got the best hiding spot for that. There’s also Small Ships to really seal the deal on the How To Train Your Dragon theme, plus it’s the easiest spot to use the Networth net for fishing. Plus many quality of life stuff and newer Minecraft features get backported here as well!

Isle Of Night currently has a very small community on Discord, many of who are the original players on the ICARIS server. It’s a great place to find others to play the modpack with. Teaming up with friends makes the early game a bit more easy since those few dragons that wanna ruin your life now have two targets instead of only one. We also occasionally do events like movie time or related contests. This is also the place to go if you need help with this modpack!
