Dust 2 Core: Minecolony is a Minecraft 1.21.1 progression modpack built around Create, MineColonies, exploration and a custom quest-driven progression.
The goal is not simply to build machines or expand a colony independently. In D2C, both systems are designed to progress together.
Your MineColonies settlement becomes the heart of your development, while Create provides the industrial infrastructure needed to supply, automate and expand it.
As the pack progresses, simple workshops evolve into large production lines, logistics networks and advanced factories.
One Colony, One Industrial Network
Your colony is the center of your progression.
Buildings, professions, research and colony upgrades gradually become requirements for more advanced technologies.
At the same time, your industry must grow to provide the resources needed by the colony.
The progression follows a continuous cycle:
Colony → Industry → Automation → Expansion → New Technology
Later in the game, your main colony becomes connected to distant factories, extraction sites and industrial outposts through advanced logistics and Create trains.
Progression Through Quests
Dust 2 Core: Minecolony includes a custom questbook designed to guide the entire progression.
The quests are not only a tutorial. They define the technological path of the modpack and gradually introduce:

- Long-distance logistics
- Resource extraction

Each major step is intended to unlock or prepare the next one.
From Small Workshop to Industrial Civilization
The early game begins with limited infrastructure and simple production.
As you progress, you will unlock more efficient processing methods, larger factories and increasingly complex automation.
Eventually, your world becomes a connected industrial system built around:
your colony, your factories, your extraction sites and your railway network.
Exploration remains important throughout the progression, especially when new resources and distant deposits become necessary.
A Slower, Structured Progression
Dust 2 Core: Minecolony is designed around gradual technological progression rather than rushing directly to the most powerful machines.
Advanced technology requires preparation.
A new machine may require a more developed colony.
A new resource may require exploration.
A larger factory may require better logistics.
The objective is to make each stage useful and to give a real purpose to the infrastructure you build.
Endgame
The final stages of the pack focus on mastering the complete production network you have developed.
By then, your original settlement should have grown into a highly developed colony supported by advanced factories, transportation systems and industrial infrastructure.
The endgame leads toward the most advanced progression components and Creative-tier technology.
Development Status
Dust 2 Core: Minecolony is currently under active development and testing.
Recipes, balancing, quests and some features may still change before the first stable release.
Current builds should therefore be considered Alpha / testing versions.
