Dread Souls [V2] – Beta

Dread Souls is a modpack with the basic premise: “Dark Souls in Minecraft.”

Although it started with that idea, it has grown into its own thing with its lore, story, and unique mechanics. It still keeps its original DNA, even years later. 

Dread Souls has a big, beautiful world provided by the Terraforged terrain generator and is incredibly dangerous with dragons, creepy crawlies, and stalkers.  Although these evils roam the world, life is still to be found even in the darkest corners.

Currently (as of the 2.0 update), Dread Souls has 6 major quest lines with around 200+ quests, which is sure to keep you entertained for a while. These quests are clear and provide the player with lore when completed. (A custom final boss is on the way and can be summoned when the main campaign is finished.)

Combat in Dread Souls is deep with Dark Souls-styled combat. There is blocking and dodging. Enemies have to see/hear you to get aggroed so get sneaking!

Included with all that, are realistic changes to the world. Realistic horse genetics, weathering and weather, and other things that happen in real life that happen in Dread Souls.

Performance is better than ever. My computer has an RTX 2060 Super, Ryzen 7800x3d (not a good combo, I know,) and 32GB 6000MHZ DDR5 RAM getting 110-190+ FPS at 42 chunks render distance.

Make sure to look out for alpha/testing releases for upcoming content.

Multiplayer is possible with the e4mc mod and is currently being tested. Use at your own risk.

Not currently implemented.

Also, pre-2.0 worlds don’t work.
