Create: Old Frontiers

This pack is still in beta, many balancing features and the pre-built world have not been added yet.

Create: Old Frontiers is designed to ensure that trains are the most effective transport system. The problems I have with the create mod as it is currently balanced are as follows:

1. Trains are very cool but serve no purpose – both elytra and ice boats are faster!
2. No resources need to be shifted because almost everything can be produced from one large cobblestone generator.
3. Even if you had to mine all the resources, it can be done all in the same place because the minecraft ore generation is not biome dependent.
4. Points 2 and 3 mean that trade in minecraft SMPs is very rare.

If you think these points are fixable problems, please give my pack a go and give me suggestions on how to improve it! The following points are the changes currently implemented:

1. Elytra and ice boats have been nerfed so trains are now the most efficient method of travel; saddles are now craftable to provide a midgame solution.
2. There is a pre-build world with several large ore deposits (much like factorio), so that permanent travel is necessary.
3. Players now require a balanced diet, making farmer’s delight more useful and incentivising trade.
4. Cobblestone generators now produce basalt and vanilla iron farms have been disabled, meaning that all of the metals must be mined from the ground – this is minecraft after all…

I understand many of these changes will ruffle some feathers but please bear with me, all of these changes are designed to play to the strengths of the create mod.
