Apertis Oculis

Apertis Oculis. “Open the Eye”. A turn of phrase quietly whispered among thaumaturges long since past. The world is beginning to move again after a great calamity elapsed it. The once depleted magicks of the world are rebuked and refilled, once again allowing the world to prosper as it had done twice before. 

With the world deprived of the life it once had, cities that once pockmarked the landscape now lay in ruins. Twisted crypts and tombs lay undisturbed underground for hundreds of years. Primordial forces lay disguised beneath veil after veil once more, and those above its strength sealed by runework the likes of which the world now forgets. It is your time, Pathfinder. Seek out that with which the world forgot, found new cities in the ashes of old ones, and rebuild. Raise new civilizations, new technologies, new schools of thought, and either prosper, or join the ashes of your forefathers.

But once again, you hear it in but a whisper within the back of your mind. ‘Open the Eye.’ Some distant projection of the mind, or a hallucination perhaps. You’ll have to delve deeper to find out.
