ALOM – Improved Survival

ALOM aims to add a bunch of mods to Minecraft without sacrificing framerate or straying too far from vanilla.

Here’s the mod list as of 6/1/25:

• AmbientSounds 6 – Sounds such as birds chirping, to liven up the world
• Appleskin – Shows food points and saturation
• Asgard Shield: Reloaded – Adds new shields, swords, and more
• AtomicStryker’s Battle Towers – Adds battle towers that yield good loot once conquered
• Biomes O’ Plenty – Adds 80+ new biomes

• Caves and Cliffs Mod – 1.17 backport
• Chisel – Adds new decorative block variants
• Chisels and Bits – Allows “chiseling” blocks, to get smaller “bits” or add more detail

• Damage Indicators Mod – Allows you to see the health of mobs
• Doomlike Dungeons – Adds some dungeons to fight through
• Enchanting Plus – Adds selective enchanting through the Advanced Enchantment Table

• Gravity Gun – Adds the Gravity Gun to pick up mobs
• Hats – Adds cosmetic hats to wear and see mobs wearing

• Sound Filters – Adds cave echoes and underwater sounds
• The Aether – Adds a new dimension and a ton of stuff

• Xaero’s Minimap – Adds a minimap to see where you’re going
• Xaero’s World Map – Adds a fullscreen map to go with the minimap
• XL Food Mod – Adds a bunch of new food items

This modpack is in 1.12.2, a version that isn’t too old and has lots of mods available.
