介绍
Zomboid
Zomboid is a survival overhaul for Minecraft 1.12.2 inspired by Project
Zomboid. I originally started this mod because I was building a modpack and
wanted zombies that acted like a real horde instead of simply spawning around
the player or being turned into damage sponges. Since then, it has grown into a
larger survival system that also changes how the player handles injuries, food,
water, exhaustion, and sleep.
The goal is to make zombies dangerous because of how they gather and react to
the world. It is also meant to make surviving an attack more involved. Getting
away from the horde is only part of the problem if you are bleeding, exhausted,
thirsty, or carrying an injury that still needs treatment.
Zombie hordes
Zombies are managed as a persistent population and can appear in configurable
hordes. Different hordes can contain different zombies and can be limited to
certain biomes, allowing the kinds of zombies you encounter to change with the
area.
Zombies also have a new way of finding the player:
- Zombies need to see or hear you before they can begin chasing you.
- Sneaking, hiding, and breaking line of sight can help you escape.
- A zombie that loses sight of you will search around the last place it saw you.
- Sounds can attract zombies from farther away and cause a horde to move toward
the source. - Alerted zombies can draw the attention of other nearby zombies.
- Zombies can climb, break through obstacles, and use shared navigation made to
handle larger groups. - Several zombie variations are included in the default horde setup.
The intent is not to constantly place zombies next to the player. Hordes exist
in the world, react to what is happening around them, and have to be dealt with
or avoided.
Health and survival
Zomboid includes its own health and hunger systems instead of relying on
Minecraft’s normal hearts and food bar. Damage can create injuries on different
parts of the body, and those injuries are what cause most of the player’s health
loss.
The health system currently includes:
- Seventeen body areas with scratches, bites, burns, fractures, deep wounds,
bruises, embedded objects, and other injuries. - Bleeding, pain, wound infection, healing, and bandages that become dirty over
time. - Bandaging, stitching, disinfecting, splinting, cleaning burns, and removing
embedded objects. - A health screen where you can inspect the body, select injuries, and use care
items from your inventory. The screen can be opened with H by default. - Hunger, thirst, calories, nutrition, body weight, endurance, tiredness, sleep
debt, illness, and moodles. - Physical penalties that can affect movement, mining, combat, eating, drinking,
and other actions when the player is hurt or exhausted. - Drinking from water sources, with the risk of becoming sick from unsafe water.
Food is no longer just a few hunger points. Vanilla foods have their own
nutrition values, and what you eat or drink feeds into the longer-running health
simulation.
Sleep and world time
Sleeping is based on how tired the player is instead of only checking whether it
is nighttime. While the player sleeps, time speeds up and the world continues to
run rather than instantly skipping to morning. Sleep quality, recent sleep, and
long-term sleep loss all affect how well the player rests.
Zomboid also supports a longer day and night cycle, with a full day lasting 60
minutes by default. This is meant to give the survival systems enough time to
develop without changing Minecraft’s normal tick rate.
Current state
This mod is still in active development and should be treated as a beta. The
main zombie, health, injury, food, water, and sleep systems are working together
in singleplayer. Moodle artwork is still being made, so moodles are currently
shown as text. Dedicated servers, large modpacks, balance, and compatibility
with other mods still need more testing.
