Zombificationem

This mod requires Cardinal Components API for Fabric versions and Architectury for Forge versions.

In Minecraft, villagers can become zombies when killed by other zombies. The player, on the other hand, cannot. I thought it would be a neat mechanic to implement, and so this mod was created.

Becoming a zombie is simple; get killed by a zombie. The term “zombie” includes other zombified players, as of version 3.

This mod is technically not required on the client, however all rendering (such as shaders, zombie arms, et cetera) happens on the client, and won’t work if the mod isn’t installed on the client.

As a zombie, your hotbar is reduced to just your offhand item and your mainhand item. You are incapable of interacting with villagers and you will burn in the daylight, however monsters will not attack you. All food except for golden apples, rotten flesh, and other detrimental foods will give you the hunger status effect. You are alternatively able to gain food by attacking players or villagers. You cannot swim, though you can still bob in water.

The process of curing oneself of zombification is the same as it would be for a zombie villager; the weakness status effect and a golden apple.
