Zombie Apocalypse

The world ended?

Zombie Apocalypse adds a new world type, Apocalypse, that turns Minecraft into a survival game where every second could be your last. Your normal worlds stay vanilla. Pick Apocalypse in the World Type list when you create a world and it changes.

The Horde

• 100+ zombie types: They each have their own traits/abilities: (Examples: Lurkers hiding in tall grass, Climbers scaling your walls, Sand Burrowers bursting up under you, Thieves running off with your hotbar items, Sleepwalkers that only move when you look away, and many more).
• Biome and distance zones. Each biome has its own kinds of zombie, and the further you go from spawn, the deadlier they get.
• Zombified mobs, armored and armed zombies, baby versions of every type all exist.
• Zombies don’t burn in daylight, follow noise, bash doors and break weak blocks.

A Dying World

• Always dark and foggy. Leaves are grey, the grass is dead and the water is murky.
• Blood moons, toxic fog and fog that thickens until you can barely see 8 blocks.
• Villages are overrun ruins. New places to loot: houses, stores, gas stations, safehouses, bunkers, military bases and huge abandoned hospitals.
• Endless survival. A day counter is always on screen, and the game gets harder the longer you last.

Infection

When a zombie would kill you, sometimes you get infected instead. You have one Minecraft day before you turn. The only cure is in hospital loot, and you have to land the injection in a timing minigame. Your friends can cure you too.

Survive

• No natural regen. Heal with food, bandages, painkillers, splints and medkits.
• Thirst: drink clean water, boil dirty water, or risk getting sick.
• Temperature: freeze in the snow and overheat in the desert.
• Injuries: bleeding, broken legs, rot.
• Food spoils: salt it, smoke it, or can it.
• Stealth: sneak, stay in the dark, and keep quiet. Sprinting, mining and explosions all draw zombies.
• Skills that level up as you use them, and backpacks and outfit slots separate from armor.

Fight Back

New Melee weapons include but aren’t limited to: Pistols, shotguns, rifles and SMGs (you craft your own ammo), molotovs, pipe bombs, bear traps, barbed wire, electric fences, generators and more. Scrap is money, spent with rare wandering survivor traders.

The Nether & The End

The infection started in the Nether, and it’s the deadliest place in the world. Zombie Worms lurk in lava lakes (parry the bite), and somewhere out there is The Origin. In the End waits an infected Ender Dragon, and killing it only makes things worse.

Hard Mode by Default

Logs need a hatchet. Torches and campfires burn out. Nights are longer, food fills less, and fall damage hurts more.
