Zenith Sword Attributes Fix

Zenith Sword Attributes Fix is a small compatibility and bug-fix mod for The Zenith Sword on Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge.

Features

• Adds a configurable effective base attack speed to both Zenith Sword weapons.
• Uses 1.6 as the default attack speed, matching a normal iron sword.
• Stores the weapon attribute table when each Zenith weapon is constructed, using the standard Minecraft weapon attribute format.
• Makes Zenith slash range respond to the player’s modified Forge:entity_reach attribute with a configurable scale factor.
• Includes Better Combat weapon attribute definitions for both Zenith weapons.

Slash range calculation

The slash range is calculated using the following formula:

(modified entity reach - 3.0) * slashRangeScaleFactor * 15.0 + 15.0

Here, 3.0 is Forge’s default entity reach and 15.0 is the original Zenith slash range. The default slashRangeScaleFactor is 1.0. Set it to 0.5 if you want changes to entity reach to have half as much effect on slash range.

Configuration

After the first launch, edit:

config/zenith_attributes_fix-common.toml

The default value is:

baseAttackSpeed = 1.6
slashRangeScaleFactor = 1.0

baseAttackSpeed is the effective main-hand attack speed for both Zenith weapons. slashRangeScaleFactor controls how strongly changes to Forge:entity_reach affect the slash range. Restart the game after changing the configuration.

Optional: Better Combat by Daedelus

When Better Combat is installed, the included weapon attribute data automatically applies the bettercombat:sword preset to both zenith:zenith and zenith:true_wooden_sword. If Better Combat is not installed, the bundled data is ignored and the rest of the fix continues to work normally.

Installation

Place this mod in the same mods folder as The Zenith Sword. Better Combat is optional and only needs to be installed if you want its combat behavior and weapon attribute integration.
