Yueyue Sodium Extension / 月月 Sodium 扩展

Adds a Round / Square render-distance option to Sodium’s General video settings, between simulation distance and brightness. Round is the default. Square includes the corners of the render-distance area; in singleplayer the integrated server also sends the corresponding real chunks, so Flashback can record them normally.

Supports Apply, Cancel, Restore Defaults, option search, and English/Chinese labels. Configuration is stored in config/yueyue-sodium-extension.json. Simulation distance, entity tracking, frustum/occlusion culling, underwater/lava fog and status-effect fog retain their normal behavior. Square mode includes more chunks and its cost depends on terrain and render distance.

Compatibility

• Minecraft 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19.5+, Java 25.
• Designed and tested with Sodium 0.9.3-alpha.1. The option activates only when Sodium is installed.
• Flashback 0.43.6 is an optional compatible recording tool; it is not required to run this extension.
• In multiplayer the server controls which chunks are sent. A client extension cannot force an unsupported server to send extra chunks. Old unrecorded chunk changes cannot be recovered from an existing replay.
