✨ Features

Ore drops multiplier

Every block that is an ore (*_ore, or tagged c:ores / forge:ores, so modded ores work too) drops ×N its normal loot when mined. It stacks on top of Fortune, and Silk Touch is left alone, so you won’t get stacks of ore blocks. Need more control? Give any block its own multiplier (e.g. diamond ore ×10, gravel ×3).

Mob drops multiplier

Every mob’s loot table drops ×N items. Set hostile and passive mobs apart, or give any mob its own multiplier (e.g. zombies ×5). Player inventories and mob equipment are never duplicated.

XP multiplier

Experience orbs are worth ×N when picked up. The boost also works with Mending repairs.

Furnace speed multiplier

Furnaces, blast furnaces and smokers cook ×N faster. Outputs, recipe XP and hoppers keep working as in vanilla.

💡 xCraft is server-side only. Install it on a server and players can join with a plain vanilla client. It also works in singleplayer.

🎮 Commands

All commands need operator permissions (level 2). Changes apply instantly and are saved to the config file.

| Command | What it does |
|—|—|
| /xcraft | Show all current multipliers |
| /xcraft <ores\|mobs\|xp\|furnace> [1-1000] | Show or set a multiplier, e.g. /xcraft ores 4 |
| /xcraft <hostile\|passive> [0-1000] | Show or set the hostile / passive mob multiplier (0 = same as mobs) |
| /xcraft mob [<id> [0-1000]] | List per-mob multipliers, or show / set one, e.g. /xcraft mob minecraft:zombie 5 (0 removes it) |
| /xcraft block [<id> [0-1000]] | List per-block multipliers, or show / set one, e.g. /xcraft block minecraft:gravel 3 (0 removes it) |
| /xcraft reload | Re-read config/xcraft.json from disk |

⚙️ Configuration

In game: open the mod list and click Config next to xCraft. On Fabric this needs Mod Menu; Forge and NeoForge have the button built in. The screen needs MidnightLib installed; without it, use the commands or the file.

On a server: use the /xcraft commands above, or edit config/xcraft.json, which is created on first launch. Every multiplier defaults to 1 (vanilla); hostile and passive default to 0 (same as mobs).

{
  "oreDropMultiplier": 4,
  "entityDropMultiplier": 2,
  "hostileMobDropMultiplier": 3,
  "passiveMobDropMultiplier": 0,
  "xpMultiplier": 3,
  "furnaceSpeedMultiplier": 8,
  "blockDropMultipliers": [
    "minecraft:diamond_ore=10",
    "minecraft:gravel=3"
  ],
  "mobDropMultipliers": [
    "minecraft:zombie=5",
    "minecraft:cow=1"
  ]
}

The most specific setting wins:

  • Mobs: the mob’s own entry in mobDropMultipliers → else hostileMobDropMultiplier for hostile mobs (zombies, skeletons, slimes, ghasts…) or passiveMobDropMultiplier for every other mob (cows, villagers, wolves…), unless it is 0 → else entityDropMultiplier.
  • Blocks: the block’s own entry in blockDropMultipliers (any block, not only ores; an ore dropping itself, as with Silk Touch, is never multiplied) → else oreDropMultiplier for ores.

In the example, zombies drop ×5, other hostile mobs ×3, cows ×1 and other passive mobs ×2. Use 1 to exclude a block or mob. Ids are the ones /summon and /setblock take; the minecraft: prefix and capitals don’t matter, so minecraft:zombie also matches the Zombie of versions before 1.11. Before 1.7 blocks have no names: use their number (56 is diamond ore).

Config files from older xCraft versions keep working with no changes.

📦 Supported versions

Every Minecraft release from 1.3.1 to 26.3 (97 versions). Each one is booted on a real server in CI with the published jar.

| Minecraft | Loaders |
|—|—|
| 1.20.2 → 26.3 | Fabric, NeoForge, Forge |
| 1.17.1 → 1.20.1 | Fabric, Forge |
| 1.14 → 1.16.5 | Fabric, Forge |
| 1.7.2 → 1.13.2 | Forge, Legacy Fabric (1.7.x, 1.8.x, 1.9.4, 1.10.2, 1.11.2, 1.12.2, 1.13.2) or Ornithe (1.9–1.9.3, 1.10–1.10.1, 1.11–1.11.1, 1.12–1.12.1, 1.13–1.13.1) |
| 1.3.1 → 1.6.4 | Forge (from 1.3.2), Legacy Fabric |

Forge is supported on every Minecraft release Forge itself exists for, from 1.3.2 to 26.3.

Forge 1.3.2 – 1.5.2: put the jar in the server’s coremods/ folder instead of mods/. Those Forge versions only load the hook that multiplies ore drops from there; from mods/ everything except ores works.

Forge 1.16.4: Forge itself needs Java 8u312 or older on this version (newer Java 8 builds crash ModLauncher).

xCraft has no required dependencies: MidnightLib is optional and only adds the in-game config screen (1.17.1+).

📥 Installation

  1. Install the loader for your Minecraft version: Fabric, NeoForge, Forge, Legacy Fabric or Ornithe. Optionally add MidnightLib (and Mod Menu on Fabric) for the config screen.
  2. Download the jar for your version and loader from Modrinth or GitHub Releases.
  3. Drop it into your mods/ folder (the server’s folder for multiplayer) and start the game.
