Wet Torch Mechanic

Wet Torch Mechanic — is a small yet highly immersive addon for the Realistic Torches mod, designed for hardcore and realism-focused modpacks.

Have you ever wondered why your torch keeps burning brightly while you’re swimming across a river or standing under a heavy downpour? Or why spelunking into deep, gas-filled caverns with an open flame never triggered a disaster? This mod fixes those oversights! Now, weather conditions, water, flammable liquids, and hazardous gases become your true survival challenges.

✨ Key Features

Weather Reaction: Burning torches in your hands (both main and off-hand) will instantly extinguish if you step out into the rain or enter a snowy biome during a snowfall.

Water Bodies & Cauldrons Danger: Submerging in water or jumping into a water-filled cauldron will strip you of light.

Dropped Items Physics: If a burning torch drops from your hands and lands in a puddle, river, or remains exposed to rain, it will hiss and turn into an unlit item.

Potion Interactivity (Splash / Lingering Potions): Throwing a splash or lingering water bottle now actually matters! When shattered, it will extinguish torches in players’ hands, dropped torches on the ground, and even placed torch blocks within the blast radius.

Immersive Effects: The extinguishing process comes with a vanilla hiss sound, smoke particles, and a brief flash of steam to the face that applies a 1-second blindness effect.

Hardcore Mode (For Masochists) By default, the mod only extinguishes torches in your hands. However, you can enable Hardcore Inventory Mode in the config. If enabled, full submergence in water will soak your backpack, turning all burning torches in your inventory into unlit ones. Cross rivers with caution!
Walking into combustible gases or fuel deposits with lit torches anywhere in your inventory will trigger a catastrophic explosion on your person.

💥 Volatile Gas Explosions: Entering explosive gases (methane, natural gas, hydrogen, propane, etc.) while holding an open flame or dropping a lit torch into a pocket of gas triggers a massive detonation!

🔥 Flammable Liquid Ignition: Dipping a lit torch into crude oil, gasoline, diesel, or kerosene will no longer act like water. The flammable liquid catches fire, igniting the area and setting entities ablaze.

🧟 Universal Mob Interaction: Mobs (zombies, skeletons, and modded humanoids) carrying torches are subject to the exact same physical rules under weather, underwater, or in volatile gases.

⚙️Configurable The mod features a built-in configuration file (with English and Ukrainian descriptions) allowing you to toggle any mechanic:

Extinguishing in rain/snow.

Extinguishing in water/cauldrons.

Extinguishing dropped torches (items).

Splash bottle extinguishing & customizable splash radius (1–10 blocks).

Short blindness effect on extinguishing.

Toggle gas explosions and customize explosion blast strength.

Toggle flammable liquid ignition.

Fully customizable string lists for explosive gases and flammable fluids.

Hardcore inventory extinguishing and volatile inventory reactions.
