You can right-click a Decorated Pot with a spawn egg to put it inside.

When you break the pot, the stored mob will pop out.

The texture of a Decorated Pot with a mob stored inside changes, but the texture doesn’t change when you hold Shift and right-click to store a mob.

A Decorated Pot with a mob stored inside can still hold other items.
