📖 Introduction

Building massive mega-structures, laying complex redstone contraptions, or surveying vast landscapes in Minecraft’s Creative Mode can be frustrating with vanilla’s sluggish, fixed flight speed. Double-tapping sprint gives only a small speed boost, leaving long-distance navigation slow and tedious. On the other hand, when trying to detail interiors or place blocks in tight quarters, vanilla flight can feel too fast and floaty, causing you to constantly overshoot your target.

Creative Fly Speed gives you complete, calibrated control over your creative and spectator flight velocities. Built with lightweight server-authoritative architecture under the Vanilla Outsider Collection, it introduces permille-based speed multipliers ($1000 = 1.0\times$), independent Creative vs. Spectator GameRules, an ergonomic /cfs Brigadier command suite, and an optional ModMenu & YACL client configuration screen.

Multiplayer Architecture (Server-Authoritative):

Install on your dedicated server and all players can fly at custom speeds! Vanilla clients can connect freely with zero required client-side mod installations. Installing on the client enables the optional in-game configuration GUI.

⚡ Pure $O(1)$ Lightweight Velocity Scaling

• Zero Heap Allocations: Computes velocity on player tick with pure primitive arithmetic ($0\text{ bytes}$ GC pressure).
• Stale State Gating: Only updates player abilities when the target speed actually changes, generating zero unnecessary network packets.

🎯 Granular Permille Speed Calibration

• Intuitive Permille Multipliers: Speeds are configured in permille, where $1000 = 1.0\times$ default vanilla flight speed ($0.05\text{ blocks/tick}$).
• Micro-Building Precision: Dial speed down to $200$ ($0.2\times$) or $500$ ($0.5\times$) for micro-block placement and cinematic camera passes.
• Supersonic Traversal: Dial speed up to $2500$ ($2.5\times$), $5000$ ($5.0\times$), or higher for lightning-fast terrain exploration.

🛡️ Independent Creative & Spectator Speeds

• Separate GameRules: Calibrate Creative building speed and Spectator exploration speed independently without conflicting rules.
• Survival Integrity: When switching back to Survival or Adventure mode, your player abilities immediately revert to standard vanilla values.

🎮 Ergonomic In-Game Brigadier Command Suite

• Fast Commands: Use /cfs or /creativeflyspeed to inspect current flight speeds, change values live, or reset to vanilla defaults.
• Permission Safe: Read-only commands (/cfs status, /cfs help, /cfs get) are available to all players; mutation commands require Game Master permissions (Operator level 2).

🖥️ Optional Client Configuration Screen

• Seamless GUI: When ModMenu and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) are installed on the client, access a clean visual slider settings menu directly from the Pause menu or ModMenu.
• Dual-Context Sync: In singleplayer, slider adjustments immediately update live GameRules in real time and persist to config/vo_creative_fly_speed.json.

🌐 Clean World Save Resilience

• Zero World Clutter: The mod stores no custom NBT entities or broken chunk data. Removing the mod at any time leaves world saves completely uncorrupted.
