Underbloom

Deep under the Overworld, the caves are in bloom.

Underbloom adds a fungal cave biome to the bottom of the world, built to feel like it was always part of the game.

Features

• 3 cave biomes: Underbloom, Underbloom Plateaus and Flooded Underbloom
• Truffle Hogs, Bloomed, Gloops and Sporemoths
• Moss Frog and Veilcap Axolotl variants
• Glowcaps, Veilcaps and Indigo Milkcaps, which grow into giant mushrooms
• Puffballs, Morels, Ironshelves and other fungal blocks
• Catacombs, with their own pottery sherds, banner pattern and armor trim
• The Potion of Sporing, Truffle Stew, Morels and the music disc “Mycelia”

The Underbloom

• A cave biome near the bottom of the world, in halls about the size of those around an Ancient City
• Lit only by its mushrooms, with Glowcaps, Veilcaps and Indigo Milkcaps growing several blocks taller than the player
• Comes in three parts:
• Underbloom: a mushroom forest under a canopy of giant Veilcaps
• Underbloom Plateaus: mesas and canyons lit by giant Glowcaps
• Flooded Underbloom: a shallow lake with Indigo Milkcaps along its shores
• Has its own music, ambient sounds and drifting spores

Fairy Rings

• Mark where the Underbloom lies below, similar to how Azalea Trees mark Lush Caves
• A huge Veilcap standing in a ring of mushrooms on the grass
• Hanging Hyphae under every cave ceiling on the way down lead to the halls

Mobs

• Truffle Hog: a blind, mossy hog that sniffs out Truffle and Morel Nodes
• Can be tamed by holding out a truffle and staying still
• Comes in common, glow and rust moss coats, which can be sheared
• Bloomed: a Zombie overgrown with fungus
• Gloop: a slime made of spores, which drops Spore Jelly
• Sporemoth: a small moth drawn to light
• Moss Frog: a frog variant that grows from tadpoles in the Underbloom, and drops a Sporelight when it eats a Sporemoth
• Veilcap Axolotl: a rare axolotl variant found in the Flooded Underbloom

Puffballs

• Found in patches on the floors and walls of the Underbloom
• Burst into a cloud of spores when walked on, giving Nausea, Slowness and Blindness
• Sneaking past them is safe
• A projectile bursts every Puffball on a block at once
• Zombies that breathe in enough spores convert into a Bloomed
• Brewing Spore Jelly into an Awkward Potion creates a Potion of Sporing, which makes you immune to the spores

Catacombs

• Old treasures buried under the halls, built from Mycelial Deepslate Bricks
• Brushing Suspicious Gravel in collapsed rooms can give Snuffle, Bloom, Spore and Bone Pottery Sherds
• The Bloom Banner Pattern, the Hypha Armor Trim and the music disc “Mycelia” can be found in their chests

Other Additions

• Ironshelf: a shelf mushroom that grows on rock near Iron Ore
• Hollow Mycelium: a thin layer of mycelium you sink through, unless you sneak or wear Leather Boots
• Truffles: can be eaten, planted in Rooted Dirt, or made into Truffle Stew
• Bone Meal can be used on Mycelium to grow mushrooms
• Veilcaps and Indigo Milkcaps can be made into dye and Suspicious Stew
• The Wandering Trader sells Underbloom mushrooms and Puffballs
