Ultimate Ponder Additions is a content addon for Ponder that adds interactive documentation for other mods.

Ponder is a tool that allows players to learn how machines, blocks, and systems work through interactive 3D scenes directly inside Minecraft. However, Ponder itself does not provide scenes for every mod. Mod authors have to create and provide their own documentation.

Ultimate Ponder Additions fills that gap.

This mod provides ready-to-use Ponder scenes for several popular mods while also giving developers and modpack creators an easy way to create their own scenes, guides, and documentation.

The mod currently includes 20 scenes covering around 90 blocks and machines.

🎮 How Do the Scenes Work?

Once the mod is installed, simply find a supported block in your inventory and **hold **W to open its Ponder documentation.

From there, you can explore the machine or system through an interactive 3D scene directly inside Minecraft.

No need to leave the game or search through an external wiki just to understand how a machine works.

📖 GuideME Integration

With GuideME installed, Ultimate Ponder Additions can also provide a documentation book containing the same machines and setups represented as interactive 3D scenes.

The mod also has its own creative tab.

GuideME is completely optional. Ponder scenes continue to work normally without it.

🛠️ Create Your Own Guides

Ultimate Ponder Additions is not limited to the scenes included with the mod.

It also provides tools for creating your own documentation.

📄 Guide Pages

Guide pages are written using Markdown and placed in:

assets/<yourmod>/guides/ultimateponderadditions/guide/

That’s it.

No Java code is required for guide pages.

The system also works through resource packs, meaning a modpack can add or modify documentation without creating an additional mod.

This makes it possible to create:

🎬 Create Your Own Ponder Scenes

Developers can also create their own Ponder scenes using the provided API.

A basic integration only requires:

One class
One annotation
Around 30 lines of code

There is no manual registration call and no load-order setup to worry about.

Your language keys remain inside your own mod namespace, helping prevent conflicts with other integrations.

Scene structures can be written in Java and generated as .nbt and .snbt files, so you don’t need to manually build every structure inside a creative world.

The complete API is documented in API.md.

The included integrations for Industrial Foregoing, Functional Storage, Modern Chickens, and Applied Energistics 2 also serve as practical examples.

Required
Ponder — provides the scene system and brings Flywheel.
Optional
GuideME — enables the documentation book.

GuideME is not required for Ponder scenes.

The documented mods are also optional and completely independent from each other.

For example, if you have Industrial Foregoing and Applied Energistics 2 installed, you will receive their respective scenes without needing Functional Storage or Modern Chickens.

The integrated mods are also not compile-time dependencies.

If one of them renames or removes a machine, only the corresponding scene will be lost. Nothing else will break.
