Hero X adds superhero powers, customizable transformations, and an encounter with Death that changes the consequences of repeatedly using Totems of Undying. Activate the Hero X Coin or use the Transformation Amulet to gain distinct abilities, then discover what happens when escaping death becomes a habit.

The Hero X Coin and Mode X

The coin activates Mode X while held, granting powerful combat and movement bonuses, including strength, resistance, speed, and regeneration. Its activation creates an expanding blue energy wave, accompanied by visual effects and a custom suit. Suit colors and power settings can be customized, allowing players and server administrators to adjust the experience.

The Transformation Amulet

Transform into a superhero with a choice of suit variants and colors. The amulet provides flight with gradual acceleration, steering, and braking, together with flight poses and wind particles. Solar attacks offer two firing styles: tap to launch an energy projectile, or hold to channel a continuous beam. These attacks hit entities and stop at solid blocks without destroying terrain.

Death and the Totem of Undying

The mod automatically tracks successful totem activations separately for each player and saves that progress between sessions.

• First activation: a quiet warning sound fades away over ten seconds while the normal totem sound still plays.

• Fifteenth activation: Death appears as an animated wolf carrying twin sickles. The encounter includes a totem-grabbing sequence and an echoing sound. Nearby common hostile mobs and their projectiles are cleared from a 24-block radius to make room for the scene; players, animals, named creatures, NPCs, and protected bosses are preserved. During the sequence, Death removes the benefits granted by that particular rescue and changes the captured totem’s appearance.

• Later activations: totems still prevent death, but their activation animation becomes gray and red. Each rescue grants Regeneration I and Fire Resistance for 15 seconds, together with 15 seconds of Blindness. Absorption II retains its normal five-second duration.

The main encounter happens once per player progression cycle. Later totems apply the altered effects without repeating the full scene.

Configuration and multiplayer

Adjust power levels, flight behavior, and visual effects through the mod’s configuration options. Multiplayer requires the same mod version on the server and every player’s client. This is a beta build; full in-game and modpack compatibility testing is still required.
